First shipments of Acer's
10.1-inch Aspire One netbooks are now underway in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Large volume shipments are on schedule for the rest-of-world beginning mid-February according to the
DigiTimes' typically reliable Acer sources. And after watching the 8.9-inch Aspire One steal the crown of
world's best selling netbook away from ASUS, we thought you'd
like to know that Acer's version of the 1.6GHz Atom N270 netbook with 1GB of RAM, SDHC card slot, 3x USB, and optional 3G was nearly here. Still no pricing unless "aggresive" means something specific to you.
Update: Acer just announced a
February 20th launch in Japan and the first 10-inch Aspire One was spotted by
HKEPC on
a shelf in Hong Kong.

Acer should have waited to release this with the N280/ updated chipset.

Can we please get some heads-up on Ion? 945/950 is pretty played out. There's a ton of us here waiting on an Ion Netbook/Nettop. Can you push some buttons at Lenovo, Acer, etc. and try to get an idea as to what's happening and when?

I personally prefer the EEE PC line ... Want built-in 3G? Get the 901GO or the 1000GO. Done deal.

Its not the Eee logo but the right shift key that needs fixing in EeePC.

it sounds like it will be the same spec, but cheaper.
optional 3g is also nice, as long as its not too pricey.

Just a bit of information here that the price of this little wonder costs HK$3998 in Hong Kong, approx. USD 516.
Price might gets lower on further shipments though.
I live in Hong Kong, and I know that picture properly comes from a Computer Centre.
I'm going to one this weekend to see if I can find one. If I can, there'll be more shots on the way.
Those are some sweet marbled designs on those cases. The index card displays are pretty cool too.

It's actually plastic wrapped for freshness. Good until 2/28/09. Do not use if seal is broken. If it smells sour, you should dispose of it.
