Engadget's recession antidote: win an HP Pavilion dv5z laptop!

This whole global economic crisis, and its resulting massive loss of jobs got us thinking. We here at Engadget didn't want to stand helplessly by, announcing every new round of misery without giving anything back -- so we decided to take the opportunity to spread a little positivity. We'll be handing out a new gadget every day (except for weekends) to lucky readers until we run out of stuff / companies stop sending things. Today we've got an HP Pavilion dv5z on offer. This bad boy's got an AMD Next Generation Notebook Platform, a 15.4-inch panel, and ATI's Radeon graphics, plus the kind folks at AMD have stuffed a Blu-Ray player in there for the lucky winner. Read the rules below (no skimming -- we're omniscient and can tell when you've skimmed) and get commenting! Check after the break for some photos of the prize!
Special thanks to AMD for providing the gear -- don't forget to follow them on twitter!

Special thanks to AMD for providing the gear -- don't forget to follow them on twitter!
The rules:
- Leave a comment below. Any comment will do, but if you want to share your proposal for "fixing" the world economy, that'd be sweet too.
- You may only enter this specific giveaway once. If you enter this giveaway more than once you'll be automatically disqualified, etc. (Yes, we have robots that thoroughly check to ensure fairness.)
- If you enter more than once, only activate one comment. This is pretty self explanatory. Just be careful and you'll be fine.
- Contest is open to anyone in the 50 States, 18 or older! Sorry, we don't make this rule (we hate excluding anyone), so be mad at our lawyers and contest laws if you have to be mad.
- Winner will be chosen randomly. The winner will receive one HP Pavilion dv5z. Approximate value is $729.
- If you are chosen, you will be notified by email. Winners must respond within three days of the end of the contest. If you do not respond within that period, another winner will be chosen.
- Entries can be submitted until Thursday, March 5th, 11:59PM ET. Good luck!
- Full rules can be found here.

Nice system, count me in !
For your consideration. ;)
I'll tell you how to fix it...investors need to quite worrying about making more money. they need to swallow some of the loses so that business can continue to worry about paying employees so that employees can continue to spend their income so business can continue to bring in money from customers so that eventually investors can see a profit again.
Pull all your money out, it just cascades until no one has any money anymore.

Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper, now, about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a mirac... It's in the hole! It's in the hole! It's in the hole!
nice
I'm in.
I could use this.
Regardless, fixing the economy? I don't know. The dollar is based on trust in the government, and as dumb as it sounds, we have a new man in office who might fix everything, so I say trust him.
I want to get this laptop. Mine just broke. Economy can be fixed by moving more services online from the traditional way. Goverment/Retail/Health Services would be not only easier to access but faster, more reliable and cheaper to operate. I'm not sure if simply bailout is gonna do. After all old business models have to go through changes and keeping alive by force old models will not do (at least not for a long time). I just want to say that this price would make me probably just the most happy man in this planet.
I could really use it in my job search! ;)
I'd take one!
I'm just wondering why Joystiq is able to include Canada (minus Quebec) in their contests but Engadget is not. I know Quebec has some ridiculous laws regarding contests, but if Joystiq is able to include the rest of Canada, then Engadget should as well.
recession antidote, indeed!
I do enjoy the occasional free laptop
I'm in,
Fixing the economy is simply a matter of legalizing marijuana. Tabacco companies could hire these warlord drug dealers to help them process the drug just like they do in the streets. Only this time, they will be doing it legal with a tax stamp on their forehead.
sweeet. me please, pretty pretty please :)!
