Acer planning mildly tweaked Aspire One netbook?
We snooped around pretty heavily at Acer's CeBIT booth here in Hannover, but we definitely didn't see a single Aspire One with a port layout like this. That said, we wouldn't put it past the company to push out an oh-so-barely different version of the Aspire One netbook that has already proven remarkably popular. macles* has it that Acer is planning to release a slightly revamped version, possibly dubbed the D250, that'll sport a new motherboard, port layout and a larger hard drive. Outside of that, everything should remain the same, which basically means that it's pulling an ASUS. Awesome.

These came into my work sometime last week. I work at a retail chain in New Zealand. Definitely with this revised port layout. I must say, the faux brushed aluminium doesn't look too bad.
I don't know why, but when I first saw the aluminium I was right away reminded of the Samsung SSD. Maybe is cause I am desperately wanting one? :p
But I gotta agree, it looks much nicer than the plastic.
Also, is it me or does this model not seem to have a physical mouse button?
It looks like its just an extension of the trackpad.
1024x768 would be nice.. (native)
you mean 1366 x 768 right?
I've always liked Acer... there products are pretty good and usually reasonably priced.

theyve got some stigma around sweatcamps though, sure as hell arnt on the ethical trading list.
if your into that sort of thing...
Damn it, when are they releasing netbooks with the GN40 or Ion GPU?
I'd rather see an Nvidia 9400m or similar.
I will take whatever they give me as long as it has HDMI out and great battery life.
Modern GPU pumping video out through a VGA port? Can't XPHE hande DVI? Hey Acer, the '90s called and they want their video interface back.
They better be putting a different processor in this model than the same boring 1.6GHz Atom N270 that you see in every single g-ddamn netbook these days. (And no, the crippled Atom Z5xx chip does not count.)
I love my Acer. Could not get me to give it up at all.
GO OUT AND BUY 'EM UP !!
And probably no Linux version. Heck you probably can only get Linux from Dell now.
Why end a dreary take with "awesome"? Not witty enough for sarcasm.
Hopefully this model will let you expand RAM to at least 2 GB.
When are they going to start putting HDMI or any kind of digital jacks on these netbooks?
Amen. The Inspiron Mini 10 is the only one I know of that has an HDMI output on it. But the lackluster battery life and overall dell-y-ness are making me wait for something else.
i want one
