The iPhone Dev Team hackers have been teasing their redsn0w iPod touch jailbreak for what seems like forever now, but those you tired of waiting might want to check out the just-released NitroKey Slipstream. The $15 software does its thing on the 2.2.1 firmware, and automatically installs Cydia for all that jailbroken app action you crave -- including the new
paid apps store. Windows-only for now, but there's apparently a Mac version in the works -- hopefully we'll see the free redsn0w take the lead back on that front. Report back if you take the plunge, would you?
Muck Fapple
uggh. Too bad nitro just ruined everything. Hopefully redsn0w or dev team will help out the masses soon...
The dev team posted their untethered jailbreak on the iPod Touch Fan forums, but most people will need to wait for a tutorial as they haven't integrated it into QuickPwn or anything.
this is very disappointing indeed. hopefully no one is stupid enough to pay $15 for this crap. chronic and dev teams have know about this for over a month. we were hoping to hold onto it until new iphones came out in a few months.
....to I hope $15 x N people who bought it was worth it!! a55holes
Boo!
Nitrokey should not even be mentioned in the ipod touch 2g jailbreak community.
They used leaked code from the hybrid team between the Iphone-dev and Chronic dev teams, along with some members from IRC.
Now that Nitrokey decided to attempt this and profit off of it, both dev teams have decided to release the untethered 24kpwn LLB patch.
So, DO NOT BUY THIS WHEN IT IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR FREE!!!
Expect user friendly interfaces such as Quickpwn to come out soon so you can fully untether your ipod touch 2g and jailbreak it, courtesy of Iphone dev and Chronic dev, the real people behind this jailbreak.

But seriously - would anyone with enough knowledge to understand what jailbreaking is, *really* not have enough knowledge to know that his isn't a "paid-for" app? *sigh* Fools and their money, easily parted... :-(
Hmm, my Xbox live gamertag is redthundersnow. Coincidence?........most definitely. At least I one-upped them with the whole 'thunder' thing.
I bought it and it works great!
