Dell Adamo arrives tomorrow? Google seems to think so
Thanks to a fortuitous search on Google Ireland, friendly tipster Niall spotted this rather intriguing sponsored link for Dell Adamo. Instead of the vague "Learn More" promised by similar sponsored links in the States, the ad on Google Ireland says that we can "Discover the Love Story on 17/3." Dell has been pretty mum on a release date -- most details, in fact -- for this laptop, so it'd be quite the pleasant surprise to be staring at an order page for the thing as of tomorrow. Of course, the sponsored link goes to the same old splash page for Adamo we've got, so we'll probably have to wait until tomorrow to find out what this really means -- maybe Dell's planning on teasing us another few months with vague statements and flashy imagery; wouldn't that be thrilling?

Even if this is true with iPhone 3.0 Dell will be getting %0 coverage on all blogs...
Even if this is true with Dell Adamo iPhone 3.0 will be getting %0 coverage on all blogs...
Unfortunately iGoon is right...
Yep. iGoon is right. Sorry Jacob, looks like your on your own.
The fact that there's coverage of this on Engadget right now means there isn't 0% coverage of Dell, therefore he's already wrong.
Well iGoon isn't talking about right now, he's talking about when iPhone 3.0 comes. So actually, he is right.
Jamie, I sincerely doubt Engadget and others wouldn't report about arguably one of the most anticipated laptops of the year.
Even if this is true with iGoon#2 Jacob will be getting %0 coverage on all blogs...
Isn't the date format normally month, day, then year? Not day, month, then year? Not that there is a 17th month of the year, but that still seems odd...
Thats only in America, the rest of the world does it in a sensible way.
I'm Irish... yay, something Irish on engadget! Or something...
I'm american and I write it day/month/year. Only in america do they write month/day/year
Nope Jamie, Dell Ireland... dates are in that format over here. Thats to day is the 16th of March 2009 or 16/03/2009. :)
I am also Irish, and yes us poor people living in the ROW use a sensible date format. You do realsie you speak English which originated in England ? I always laugh when i read COLOR, I like to say it in a robot voice American spelling & grammar is so funny.
Woops! My mistake.
Wow, Major4Play. Really showing your mastery of English grammar in that comment, too.
I understand that "The 17th of March" is one way to say it, but "March, the 17th" really doesn't seem all that improper. I would like to know why people get all up in arms about localized dialect.
Irish people can read?!? I thought all they did was run around in skirts drunk and get their asses handed to them repeatedly by the British...
No, he's right. I have a friend who works for Dell in Ireland. It's official, they are planning to launch the Adamo on the 3rd of Drunktember. It's the 17th month of the year on the Druidic calendar.
Put the smallest measurement first, then the middle one, then the biggest - it just makes sense. Of course, being a total nerd, I prefer Year-Month-Day format (YYYY-MM-DD) for sorting purposes.
@soobin27 That hurts man, that hurts :'(
companies really need to rethink the laptops.
its just screen and keyboard. sony with the P and look likes lenovo with Yoga are just getting there
I still don´t get why everybody is comparing it to a Macbook Air. From the Size and Features it would compete against a usual Macbook Unibody. So If Dell prices it above 1299$ I doubt that this one will be successful...
Why? Because Dell is billing this as a "Luxury Notebook" just like the MBA. And if you think it will be in the 1299 price point you are sadly mistaken.
So you can safe some $ and get a MacBook Unibody instead, if you are on a budget ;-) The Design depends on the individual Taste but but featurewise they are pretty much the same I think...
How do you know that "From the Size and Features it would compete against a usual Macbook Unibody."? Dell hasn't released any specs other than the fact that the screen is 13.3", and it is certainly much thinner than "normal" MB/MBP.
By careful analysis of the press shots you can tell it's about the thickness of the MacBook without the screen, thus why all the ports are in the back because the sides just don't have enough height for them
I have just three words: OH MY GOD!
I know that I won't be able to buy it, but it sure has my attention. :)
my credit card is ready. I just hope the specs justify the run-up.
I won't buy one unless they come out with a special "Adama" edition with Lorne Greene's face laser-etched onto it. Also, the dell logo will have to be replaced with the Seal of the Lords of Kobol.
great stuff
This laptop is one sexy machine, hope someone makes it a hackintosh stat.
Please i neeeeeeeeeeeeeed this for my iphone!!
Obviously false. There aren't 17 months in a year, people!
Google in Malaysia thinks it already launched on March 10th or October 3rd.
