MSI Wind U110 Eco doesn't have ATI graphics, is no longer interesting
Well, so much for that: our friends at Laptop have discovered that the ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 listed on the Wind U110's spec sheet was a typo, and that the machine's 1.6GHz Atom Z530 is actually paired with the dramatically more boring Intel GMA 500 graphic chipset. That makes the claimed nine-hour battery life slightly easier to believe, even if it is super-disappointing -- looks like we're still waiting on that dream netbook.

lol ati got pwned. intel should buy nvidia and destroy amd/ati
Ever seen Engadget's commentary of the Intel v Nvidia cases? Those guys hate each other's guts.
You should be destroyed fool!
Nvidia should gather loads of money and buy out Intel xD
That typo makes things much easier to believe.
Huh... well so much for that. I was all set to buy.
Same here brother same here :(
Just get one of the Ion netbooks...
Couldn't agree more :)
I almost preordered it. :(
Can't wait for the first Ion netbooks now!
wow that's quite the typo.... Most of those letters aren't anywhere near each other on my keyboard!
He was using dvorak
LOOOOOOOL
Good one "Oli D" :)
That's what I was thinking:
"Oops, did I type ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200?? I meant to type Intel GMA 500. Sorry about that..."
well...this is about as depressing as this awful economy, you see something good but turns out it was nothing. Thanks MSI, I didn't want your crappy keyboard and trackpad button anyways. Hello 1000HE (where's that purple one?)
Sounds like a last min change, thats one hell of a typo..
Damn!
I was that close to buy my 1st "Real" netbook :(
Oh well, good luck next time.
The headline for this could be any more true. I really thought this was going to be badass, and now I'm back on my HP Mini.
Why are you "waiting on that dream notebook". You guys should put one together! You know what most of us look for in a notebook and I know you can get the parts.. I mean even if you can't build it yourself, you should at least spec it on paper for someone else to build.. You know all the big shots check here everyday to see what you (and we) have to say!
@patriotsn1
I want a light weight "notebook" with any nVidia or Ati dedicated graphic card and 10" to 12" screen under $600.
Got one?
And "Phony" sell their pocket "Netbook" "Vaio P" for steep $899!!
Moreover, it has the same disease as most of current "Netbooks" the Intel Crappy Graphic Card.
I'll buy "Vaio P" if it has a dedicated graphic card for sure.
Why there's no company around here understand what GEEKS need?
give me 800x1280 screen of 10 (or up to 11) inches, a dedicated graphics chip that can decode blu-ray (for a usb br drive), a eSATA port, gigabit ethernet, not this 10/100 crap, possibly a dual core processor, with msi's button-pushing overclock ability, and decent speakers. and two gigs of ram minimum. wireless n, bluetooth, and 2.0mp webcam required. at least 160gb hard drive.
the cheapest you could get this (minus the screen) on newegg is 800 dollars.
give me a break.
Because companies don't care about them?
They have it easier to sell to consumers who account for 95% of their sales than to geeks who are at most 5%. (I mean don't all "geeks" have to build their own PCs?)
Man that MSI logo is ugly. They need to make it smaller and put it where logos go, middle on the bottom of the screen.
MSI Netbook, now equal to all other Garbagebooks
@Doug
Exactly!
And I think HP is going to the same GarbageBooks Category
I think it is obviously a typo, it happens often with some words. Actually I used to havATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 ...oops!, sorry, you see? It did it too.
What's with the thick bezel? Specs wise, MSI has it all already. Half the bezel and MSI has got a winner!! :D
Anyone here ever check out the Asus N10J?
The low-end model costs about $660 and it has a GeForce 9300m GS which is significantly better than the Mobility Radeon HD 3200.
If you take a netbook and add in all kinds of extras to beef it up, doesn't it just become a regular laptop computer? What exactly is the "dream netbook" if by definition a netbook is a cheap, crappy computer designed for surfing the net and not much else?

Can the GMA 500 at least play Red Alert 3?
@mediumsizedrob
To me a perfect netbook would be one with discrete graphics at it's current price point $200-$450. I don't know how feasible that would be, I suppose it's a matter of time and demand as always.
Something that's able to run WoW and or Left for Dead decently while i'm on campus in betwix classes would be great. I'll even take Intel's GN40 set coming up to tell you the truth.
