Dell Studio One 19 unboxed, found less attractive than Facebook photo
PC Authority is first from the gate with its unboxing of Dell's Studio One 19 all-in-one desktop. Funny how white, the hottest color for consumer electronics back in the early naughts has been cheapened by the netbook commodity. Fortunately, the Studio One 19 ships in multiple colors. And after seeing the immaculate Adamo packaging, we'll just assume that this pre-production Dell was wrapped in pre-production packaging as well. We hope so anyway. See our favorite picture after the break -- the rest lie beyond the read link.

What's with the wide plastic borders?
Thats on ugly looking bit of kit.
From the read link:
"White is a little old hat these days - it only makes it into the cheaper lines of netbook, for example - and sadly takes away from the appeal. Which is not to say the Dell isn't attractive - it's a good-looking machine".
You should learn to "borrow" a little better, Thomas.
Lol at your favorite picture. You so crazy, Engadget.
first time that a computer looks better from behind ( pun intended ). Seriously Dell get better designers. Ok, so iMac is not really a direct competition for this but how do you expect it to go head to head with HP TouchSmart when this is mere 19" and looks like the Jetsons' family computer?
Wait, why did you just change the main article image Thomas? 30 seconds ago it was just a front-on image. Trying to make it as unattractive as possible are we by sticking a plastic wrap over it? Ugh.
White 'system' with a black keyboard & mouse!
Did they just throw in whichever one of either they had in stock.
Ruins any chance (if that's even possible) of this looking even remotely stylish
"Found less attractive than Facebook photo" - I bet Thomas has been dying to use that line for ages!
Win!
I love how the article talks about how the first five people to wander past the authors desk wondered if it was a mac, despite having the words DELL written on it in plain sight. PC Authority indeed.
Yeah, white is obviously reserved for iMacs.
And the KKK
i htink the red one as sexier
Is Dell trying to copy Apple's way of doing things? Heck, you cannot even custom config the Adamo aside from accessories and choice of external drive. And what's up with Japan getting stuff first. First, the mini 10, now this. C'mon Dell, you're not Sony.
Lets hope it isn't made in Poland where the build quality seems to be so poor it is funny

Less attractive than a Facebook photo? What exactly is that supposed to mean? :-P
It means that the clown who gets paid peanuts to write this crap has lost his objectivity.
WTF man.
You guys bitch when there's too much packaging and then you bitch when they re-use packaging.
It's a box, a used one.
Get over it.
Who honestly gives a SHIT about how a desktop PC is packaged? You will need to see and/or worry about the packaging for around 30 seconds. So. WHAT.
Not very green of them.
The funny thing is that the author is trying imply that the design is bad, but the first five people who walked by thought it was the more "beautiful than thou" Apple brand computer.
Oh well, directly compete with an Apple product, get your hit piece on Engadget.
Ha, that title made me chuckle.
Who cares about the packaging? As long as the device is safe and the package "green".
I completely agree. All of my computer boxes go in the basement with a receipt stapled to them. It saddens me so much that people always talk about being "green", but when someone makes an attempt to actually be somewhat environmentally conscious, but not pretty, people complain. Would you have preferred Dell putting it in a beautiful (abet wasteful package), putting a green wallpaper on (apple uses plants), and then calling it the "Greenest computer known to man woman and animal". It just goes to show, it is not what you do, it is what you say....
The fact that these Apple-Cult members even mention packaging as a real issue is further proof of the absurd bias on this website. It's fortunate that this blog is so frequently updated, as this constant Apple pandering would have driven most people away long ago.
Engadget rides a fine line. Someday another blog will rise up with as many updates, but without the clearly bias in reporting, and when that day comes, this blog will be history. No more pal-ing around with Jimmy Fallon then....
whats this?Dell attempting to copy Apple's monitor?FAIL this is fugly
If you're gonna rip off Apple ... do it with some cojones.

Wow, that thing looks cheap.
And why the hell did they ship with a black keyboard.
