I actually really like the design direction Acer is taking with these, personally I think they all look fantastic and have quite a bit of style and hopefully some interoperability thanks to all the mini-USB I'm seeing.

Acer is, they may be more for the budget minded in their laptop range but generally they are very good with not producing products that fall apart. Unlike Apple which produces so many that get damaged easily/fall apart/are extremely dangerous due to manufacturing decisions made by Apple to save pennies/last as long as it takes to get the product refresh out (~1 year)
Agreed. They may not be the most powerful rigs but their laptops are very solid. my sister that could break an anvil has had one for 3 years and it still runs like a champ and the hinge is nowhere near as sloppy as the one on my dell laptop

Why are manufacturers producing touchscreen phones after Apple introduced the first iPhone?
Is it because Apple is pushing the technological envelope?
My thoughts about Acer change more every year. For the better.
Doesn't look to bad. Im excited to see another phone with the android OS on it thats for sure. I wonder what provider will take on this phone? Id like to see verizon with some phones supporting the android.

Ah, another piece of derivative crap. (I don't mean the Wall Street kind).
Eh that phone doesn't look well built for Android. I think all android-based phones should follow the standard HTC set with the G1: dedicated menu button, trackball, and the 4 home keys (as well as touch screen, of course)
That form factor looks better suited for Windows Mobile, which could use more phones with screens as large as that.
