Bigfoot Networks returns with Killer Xeno network card
Our hearts are aflutter this morning, as the long forgotten Bigfoot Networks has returned with a vengeance in order to fulfill desires of steroid-infused network interface cards. Nearly 2.5 years after the introduction of the original Killer comes the Killer Xeno, a next-gen NIC with more memory, an upgraded network processing unit (NPU) and integrated audio for hardware-accelerated voice-chat. Basically, this card promises that hardcore gamers / yappers will enjoy a "hiccup-free" voice experience while fragging, and if you reckoned you'd have to look far and wide to find one, you'd be mistaken. Today at the Game Developers Conference, Bigfoot has also announced a deal with Alienware, which will soon become the first exclusive PC OEM to ship the Killer Xeno Pro; beyond that, EVGA has become the firm's first exclusive third party AIB partner to license Killer Xeno. The Killer Xeno will arrive shortly in two flavors: the 256MB "Ultra" and 128MB "Pro," which will sell for $179.99 and $129.99, respectively.

I swear this thing works! It gave me a 12 inch penis and i now have a real girl friend! True Story! Every one should buy one right away!
Except girls. That would be so wrong.
Yes, it does work. It does do what it promises. And if you are a hardcore gamer looking for every possible shred of performance you'd get it.
The majority of people don't need it.
Killer Xeno = Keno (so it helps play a mean online game of Keno?)
Yes the card does actually work. It prioritizes packets and does a much better job of managing your internet traffic. It improves frame rate and lowers ping. I know because I have used it. For all you skeptics and people claiming that this is a rip for people with little knowledge, just shows your lack of knowledge in networking.
P.S. I still think the thing is over priced though, so don't get me wrong. If it were $119.99 and $79.99 respectively, I would have bought one myself instead of using my friends for 2 weeks while his PC was down.
The only scenario when buying this is necessary is when you have 2 i7extreme-overclocked processors, 3 video cards, 32gb of ddr3... and you absolutely have no idea on what else to spend the money... That's, of course, after you have 3 ferraris, and 2 lambo's, and 2 sets of bimbos are constantly humping them in the nude, and the helicopter is ready to go 24/7 just in case you want to take a shit in Alaska for some reason. And then, your life starts to feel so empty that you feel that a network card will make people treat you not like a pompous ass, but like one of them. Of course this plan of buying things never works, and they continue treating you like a pompous ass.
I believe the first model did not support UDP Multicast. If they added this feature the Financial sector would of been all over this card.
FWIW, a good NIC does make a big difference, espeicially with torrents. Currently I cant use my Intel NIC due to space limitations on my mobo, but when I had it installed, I never had to worry about torrents fighting my browser in the TCP stack.
this "Onboard Status Display - Custom "Bling Bar" on the Killer Xeno Ultra displays link speed and network status, or anything else you want it to say. Customize your rig and say it in lights!" is the real difference between the two models
