HP's Pavilion dv2 spotted in the wild, on sale in Thailand
The first machine to rely on AMD's Neo MV-40 processor has officially been spotted outside of a show floor, though you'll have to jet to Bangkok if you're looking to touch one yourself. The atypically well-specced 12.1-inch Pavilion dv2 has been spotted over in Thailand for around $720, and while it doesn't look drastically (or at all, really) different than what we saw at CES this year, it's good to see this bugger finally creeping into homes. Check the read link for a few more angles and impressions, and feel free to get your hopes up for a US release in the not-too-distant future.

Too bad Lauren wouldn't be interested in this model. Not 17".
Obviously not, otherwise she'd have the option of spending $1000 on a 7.1 inch macbook with 1.6GHz and 512 MB of RAM.
Whoah, way to replace a fake article about a 1:1 motion controller with a real one about a dirty laptop.
This came out in Canada already. I work at Future Shop and we have 2 different models, one with an x1270 chip and another with 3410 chip. 699 for the base model, don't remember the price of the other one.
Allready on sale in Sweden as well. Just check this out: http://www.eyemag.se/core/items/200903/3095/cc_090325.pdf 1st and 2nd page.
The graphic designs on the palm rest and hinge really kill it for me :(
This is on sale at Futureshop here in Canada, although its not on their website I almost bought one last week.
how does this compare to the dell xps m1330 running at around 699 as well?
the price is pretty much over the top
Not really, you're getting a computer that outperforms the original macbook air and trails very closely to the new air for more than a thousand dollars less.
I suggest you spend a little more and get a brand new Macbook. Its unibody construction and robust OSX operating system is the best I've experienced. Get one like I did and you will not settle anything for less ever again.
Was that message brought to us by Steve Jobs?
this bugger ? lol u must be happy about this no ?
Yeah I confirm! I saw one today at futureshop (Canada)
Was looking allover the internet to find more info about it.
I'll try to snag some pics later for the readers
I saw this a few days ago at Futureshop, it's pretty nifty looking, thin too.
I was actually considering it, until I realized it didn't have an optical drive...
they should really make an anti-fingerprint glossy finish.
Please Ive always wanted my own Computer.
I also saw this at Futureshop in Toronto last weekend, and I was very interested, but the salesperson actually told me that it seems to get alot hotter than any of the other laptops they have on display, and he thinks that they will probably overheat easily. I've looked high and low for any recent reviews to see if anyone has mentioned this as an issue. Can anyone comment on that?
This just came in at Best Buy, put it on display today at my store. $800
At first glance, I read "Pinch Yourself" as "Punch Yourself"
Bad deal @ 800$
In my local stores I can find the HP 2710p (this magnificent tablet) with a C2D U7700, 2GB RAM, 120GB, X3100 for less than 800$ and we are talking for new devices (not refurbished or something)!
I think, a much better deal overall...
I got a hand on it myself, nowhere further than a mainstream reseller in France (FNAC).
Its already on market sale for more than a week here, its nice, altough glossy, pretty thin and well finished.
French reader will find more intell on PCInpact.com and forum.hardware.fr
