dmedia renames G400 MID, hopes to showcase M0 at Computex
While dmedia has definitely shown signs of life here lately, we've been decidedly left in the lurch with regard to its elusive MID. Initially spotted last November as the WiMAX-packin' G400, said unit skipped out on promised booth appearances at both CES and Mobile World Congress 2009. Being that we're the forgiving bunch, we're still maintaining some level of hope that the recently renamed M0 will indeed make itself seen at Computex this June. Outside of the identity swap, most everything else looks the same; specifications include a 4.3-inch touchscreen (800 x 480 resolution), a 5 megapixel webcam, a Fujitsu-sourced WiMAX module, built-in GPS module and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. Details beyond that are few and far betwixt, but hopefully we'll know more as warmer months approach.

MIDs are so slow. 400MHz is just not cutting it. I'm gonna wait till they put a GHz CPU in there. or maybe just the nVidia Tegra 650...

GHZ? Why? OMAP3 mids are fast enough for the things mids are intended to do. Also nvidia tegra is just an arm11 core with custom nvidia stuff put in for video. OMAP3 > Tegra

Even slow Windows still beats no Windows. There's alot of business software where speed is of little concern.... Not that I'd turn down a full 1.6Ghz Atom if offered the choice though!

Make it a 7 or ideally 9 inch model and just double the price. There are too many of these "me too" products. Go for a market that no one has tapped yet.

This better have WiFi, or it will fail.

If priced $1 over $229 will fail here in america , guaranteed.
We all know what device cost $229, yep iPod touch.

yeah..... only, this has a camera, gps, internet that doesn't require you being at home (where the laptop is) or a starbucks, not to mention that they probably won't charge 10 bucks a pop for interface improvements.
just shut up.

...and one important tidbit is missing ........HDD or flash space? or does it run on some super-invisible flash memory?
MaxSMoke @ Apr 7th 2009 10:50PM
This is frustrating! I keep hearing about all of these MID's that can run XP, yet I see little in the way of actual US releases. I want my pocket-size Windows!
And no, Vaio P, you don't count! :p
