Dell Vostro A90 now available in US with much more reasonable $349 base price
Dell's 8.9-inch Vostro A90, the Mini 9 with an identity crisis, has now hit stateside with a starting price of $349, about one-third the price of its Japanese counterpart. As you can probably guess, it sports a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, up to 1GB RAM and 16GB SSD, Intel GMA950 graphics, 802.11g, 0.3 megapixel webcam, 4-cell battery, and Windows XP Home Edition -- sorry, no option for Linux here, but you can still order the Mini 9 if you want that option, a brighter color scheme, or a smaller bill.

You're not planning on taking photos with a laptop are you?
People who read Engadget aren't already aware?
LOL X3
I'm tired of seeing Netbooks with the same spec sheets.
What is this computer? What is it good for?
Pissing you off. Nothing more.
Meh. Specs to purchase are limited to XP, 1GB, 16GB SSD, and 0.3 MP. I'm glad I got my Mini 9 that was fully customizable to 2GB, 64GB SSD, and 1.3MP.
Does the Vostro version have a matte screen option?
Did they botch the right shift key like the Asus 1000HA?
You mention an identity crisis and I agree. What's the difference between the far cheaper and more attractive Mini 9 and this thing? I have the Mini 9 with the lowest config and Ubuntu. I paid $229 (white) and it does everything a netbook should do. Why should I pay $349 for XP?
I'm a little confused at this article and many of the comments. On the Dell website you can get the Vostro in a Linux version (the Vostro 90n model) with an 8gb SSD and bluetooth and a 0.3mp webcam for $200 new! It's like the cheapest thing on the website now! All the other specs and internal components are identical to the Mini 9 (except the color, obviously). It's so tasty I want to get one to keep my Mini 9 company.
