Velocity Micro's Atom N270-packing NoteMagix M10 coming this month for $380
Largely under the radar since its CES debut -- and even then there wasn't much to say, frankly -- Velocity Micro's 10.2-inch NoteMagix M10 is on sale with an April 30 estimated ship date. Base price is $380, and color notwithstanding (it comes in red, blue, and black), the only customization option really is a DVD writer for $70. What you do get, however, is the usual spec list that comes along with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, along with the pleasant surprise of a 6-cell battery. The big question now is if there's really enough here to divert attention from any of the other, more dominant brands in this hyper-saturated netbook market.

Sounds intriguing!
The first netbook I´ve seen that´s actually worth every cent.
good
good specs but it doesn't look that great.
n270 1.6ghz, 1gb of ram, 160gb hd or 16-20gb ssd... 1024x600...
yada yada... they're all the same... stop reporting on these until the specs change a single bit...
Who Made you read this. No one so Shut the fuck up.
That's probably just why Miller wrote, "What you do get, however, is the usual spec list that comes along with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, along with the pleasant surprise of a 6-cell battery."
They did. Where have you seen a netbook for this price that comes with an internal DVD writer and a 6 cells battery?
It's actually an external optical drive. Click on the "?" next to the option, and it'll say just that in the first sentence.
Wake me when Voodoo or Falcon Northwest release a netbook.
it looks kinda thick for a netbook, i guess thats for the dvd drive though, oh well i just want all this insane amount of competition to drive the price down.
*yawns*
I really don't think the market is saturated yet, otherwise these things would be discounted to nothing to shift and they seem to be shifting alright on their own.
Maybe it's just Engadget thats saturated with pointless netbbok news.
Meh, I'm happy with my Asus EEEpc that I'm sitting here with, Don't need any type of CD/DVD anything.
meh, for $430 i can get a notebook with the dvd drive, bigger screen and dual core celeron
It looks like a mini Gateway.
DVD Drive+Ion+Via Nano with 6 cell(no butt) for 400 dollars. Why hasn't someone made this yet?
