ASUS gets official with business-minded P30A laptop

We already knew that ASUS's P30 laptop (or P30A, as it's now apparently known) would come equipped with Intel's latest and greatest anti-theft technology, but ASUS has only just now gotten fully official with the laptop itself, and dished out all the rest of the specs that at least some folks have no doubt been waiting for. This being a full-on ultraportable, you won't exactly get a ton of power, but you can expect a snazzy LED-backlit 13.3-inch display (1366x768 resolution), along with a low-voltage 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB of RAM, your choice of 250GB or 320GB hard drives (in either 5,400 or 7,200 rpm variations), a DVD drive, HDMI out, a 4-cell battery, and even some built-in 3G -- all in a package that weighs in at just over three pounds. Still no official word on a price, but it looks like you should be able to pick one up any day now -- or you could just wait for a similarly thin-and-light and slightly more stylish Acer Timeline, your choice.

When are we gonna start getting 1080p screens on 13" laptops? I want one!!!
That looks really ugly, unlike the macbook air. This thing isn't as tough as it looks, it doesn't have unibody construction.
If you can read try to compare the specs of the 2 laptops and you will notice how this thing can piss on the head of the MBA from tree floors above; aestetically I like it better too, but this is matter of taste: somebody likes the shiny bragadoccio style, I don't.
From three floors below too.
the mac book air is pretty ugly actually... the only saving grace is the keyboard which is a design borrowed from sony vaios.
The Dell Latitude E series is better, also comes with minimum (can't get less then that) 3 year warranty, has more features, looks nicer, more powerful (well depending which model you take and how you configure it).
This ASUS machines looks like an Acer low-end models more than anything (based on the picture of the article).
Mmm. Smexy.
Hello..
I am using the Dell Laptops and its really a very good and fast laptop.
In the Laptop the Dell Laptop is better than all others laptop and also its with a good configuration and also with the all new features and the design of the Dell Laptops is reall a very nice..
I know what you're doing, you're trying to pose as an ineffectual plant, hired by Dell, to make Dell look good. Of course, we here are enlightened and would immediately downrank you as a troll. Therefore making Dell look BAD.
Because of this, I'm going to UPrankyou, because I seriously doubt that you were trying to get highly ranked. Then, your argument that Dell is a decent computer company will be justified.
I really want this laptop. I'm surprised nobody has made a comparison to the X300/301. Please bring this notebook to Canada, ASUS.
