HP Pavilion dv3t hits the streets, starts at $799
Right on the heels of Dell's mainstream Studio 15 offering, HP has the Pavilion dv3t all tidied up and ready for retail. It's a 16:9 widescreen 13.3-inch sort of number, with Core 2 Duo T6400 under the hood, a Blu-ray option and a pickable 9-cell battery which boasts up to 7 hours of battery. There's also a webcam, up to 500GB of hard drive, and two options for colors: Espresso black (pictured after the break) and Moonlight white (above). Prices start at $799, but there's plenty of room to grow.

How can a 13" weigh 4.93 lbs - hahaha
I LIKE! Who needs a dv2... I just need to bother clicking and finding out the graphics card.
I take that back. You would think, it'd at least match the dv2 in graphics, but nooooo, 4500mhd... And I don't think the $150 is worth it to upgrade to a 105m...
It seems HP's 'strategy,' like everyone else, is to release a whole boat load of products, none of them quite right. I guess it has to do with their reliance on cheap commodity components (including Windows, which may be the most expensive component), rather than really designing a computer from the ground up in a very integrated way.
Where is the recycle bin?
HP offers CTO on every laptop. While not every option is available for every model, their turn-around is speedy and the prices very competitive.
My dv2000t has excellent build quality; better than any laptop I've ever seen except ThinkPads. Unfortunately, the HP batteries don't seem to last very long. Go ahead and get the 2nd battery now; you'll be needing a new one in about a year.
the white one, with Windows 7, and a better graphics card....will be mine
it looks incredibly plasticy. I've always been a fan of the business line like my current nc6400, but seriously? HP needs to learn to stop purposefully making their consumer grad laptops look like ass.
they need to take a lesson from dell on design.
HPs have been good value for a long time... just wish their build quality was a little nicer and they used screens that had better viewing angles.
in my experience they have a history of overpricing the hell out of their "top" components. Like, from a 500GB drive to a 1TB will be a $200 jump, a core 2 duo to a (low end) core 2 quad will be $250, etc. Obviously it's just an option that you don't need to take, but as someone who only buys computers to save the trouble of ordering and installing individual components it's a pain to see HP refuse to let me pay a reasonable price where they still make money.
The 4500MHD is pretty decent. It extends the battery life on laptops by 20-30 minutes compared to the 9400m. Plus, it can play many older games like Hl2 and Wow just fine. The only downside is that intel drivers suck. If Intel stepped it up with drivers, you could probably play Left for Dead as well.
That LCD screen is cracked pretty badly
I just picked up the dv4-1313dx for $549.99 on Sunday at Best Buy.

Love it. Battery life could be better, but I didnt really need long battery life.
same here!
AMD processor? No thanks.....but I guess if you're just using it for regular everyday stuff it's fine.
I like the blackie myself, except for that chrome trim looks cheap and too much like an iPghone. All black would be preferable.
Still no DDR3 RAM, why is HP lagging behind every other PC manufacturer?
looks to compete directly with the S XPS 13. Has DDR3 become that much better than DDR2 (used to be bandwidth vs latency).
the LED screen (even on the infinity screen) should be awesome.
And 4.93lbs isnt terrible - its no x200, but its not terrible.
HP has always offered good deals when it came to performance/price. If only their build quality would improve I would be on board.
cool
Hey, we should put the sound ports in the front of the computer! Duh.
OMG THE SCREEN'S CRACKED!
wait nevermind
How much better is this than the BestBuy dv3510nr?
Obviously you can customize the components on this one, but are the CPU and graphics upgrades available that much better than what's already packaged in the dv3510nr?
it's not
No firewire? They always make 13" inch laptops with a feature missing.
No thanks HP, you liars!!! - http://www.hplies.com/
