RIM CEO confirms a new Storm is brewing
It's not like we're surprised to hear this, but RIM CEO Jim Balsillie just told Reuters that the company is hard at work on a successor to the BlackBerry Storm. According to Jim, the consumer market is "large and untapped," and the current Storm is a "huge success in terms of sales and adoption." Sure, sure -- it's hard to scoff at a million units sold, after all -- but with rumors of an entirely new approach to text entry flying around, we'd say there's a good chance the Storm 2 doesn't so much build on the Storm formula as start over entirely. Thoughts?[Via PhoneScoop]

Cool. Competition is good.
that's why WinMo is, and will keep geting so very screwed. Trent Reznor is quite right.
The phone may actually turn out great. Verizon will lock it down and make it suck
lets all remember when RIM CEO said that it was tuff luck if you bought the first gen storm http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/04/16/rim-ceo-on-blackberry-storm-nobody-gets-it-perfect-out-the-doo/
have to say i stood in line for 5 hours that bitter cold morning the storm got released and it was flop.... love my 3G iPhone more then anything
Listen I'm a rep for Verizon and I'll be the first to say that the software thats official for the Storm is crap! That being said if you go to crackberry and upgrade the OS to .132 or .141 it is a fantastic device. I'm not gonna start bashing the iphone cuz soon I'm gonna have to hawk the iphone lite or whatever they are calling it. When that time comes people on Verizon will have the best of both worls but I'm sure I'll hear bitching that our iphone doesn't do as much as AT&T's and thats the point I stop caring. Everyone bitches well I'm locked into a contract or coverage sucks in my area. To this I say stop whining and play the cards you are dealt everything in life is not fair and we should all know this by now. I'll be geeked when a new Storm comes out and as long as the don't bone the initial OS everything will be good.
OK. I paid $300 for a phone with bugs to manage important personal and professional schedules. It has been over 4 months and an upgrade is still just a rumor. And now the CEO tells me a NEW Storm may be coming? Hmmm...let's see. What should I do next time? Come to think of it, if I live to be 100...and I buy a new phone every 2 years...that's alot of phones...and I'm not going to care about the network if customer service is this terrible.
