Mini MPC 2000XL / SP1200 flash drives let you take a little Kanye with you

We're not usually very enthused by flash drives, though occasionally they're cute enough to cause a flutter of interest. These, however, are hair-raisingly, insanely awesome. Designed with the modern musician in mind, these two bad boys are convincingly modeled on the AKAI MPC2000XL sampler and the EMU SP1200 drum machine. And by "convincingly modeled" we mean that they look pretty much exact to their original counterparts. They have a 4GB capacity and are going to run you $39.95 each, and you can pre-order them now. We strongly suggest that you look into doing just that. Several more shots after the break.

I am NOT a gay fish!
TheAngryGamer @ May 5th 2009 4:09PM
The funny thing is, I read the headline and came here specifically for the fish stick comments.
Dave Skaggs @ May 5th 2009 3:33PM
Yeah...so I don't get behind these overpriced "designer" flash drives. Function over form for me.
Raptor @ May 5th 2009 3:39PM
Totally agree,
The stick is either in my pocket or stuck in the side/back of my PC.
I only ask that it is strong and doesnt stab me in the leg, oh and works well.
kcdk99 @ May 5th 2009 11:55PM
Yeah, seriously, imagine the looks you're going to get if you pull this out of your pocket and are like "dude, look at my sweet flash drive!" Now if you could actually play sound bites from a folder on the drive by pushing select buttons on the drive.... that would be SWEET! All you would need to do is add a little speaker, a battery, and an mp3 synthesizer.
Scott @ May 5th 2009 3:50PM
sweet
SoundsAndGear @ May 5th 2009 4:27PM
Yo, those joints are awesome man! lol. I'm DEFINITELY going to get me an mpc one, or two, or a few lol.
Matthew @ May 5th 2009 4:32PM
You're the guy or somehow related to the guy selling these aren't you.
KJ @ May 5th 2009 4:05PM
These look stupid.
Kanye is weak.
Josh @ May 5th 2009 4:27PM
Ukraine is not weak!
Matthew @ May 5th 2009 4:23PM
tempting. but for that kinda money I'd expect it to be at least 8GB.
Joseph @ May 5th 2009 4:23PM
4GB for $40? sometimes Art + Tech. doesn't mix. Atleast make it 64GB and charge $200.
carl weston @ May 5th 2009 5:06PM
Kanye doesn't use a mpc 2000/or a SP1200..His sampler of choice is the ASR 10 keyboard...
DomieDome @ May 5th 2009 5:31PM
he samples using the ASR-10 but uses an MPC 2000xl as a sequencer.
bureX @ May 5th 2009 5:11PM

SoundsAndGear.com @ May 5th 2009 6:20PM
@Matthew
uhhh no lol
just because I actually know what these are, and actually want them, means I am selling them? I tried to respond to the comment but it didn't go through so I'm putting it down here.
hope you get it.
but uhh no, I don't know the dude selling them, nor am I the dude selling them...just another music production fanatic that likes to see stuff like this.
I too wish the size was a bit more though, but I'll still grab at least one just because
peace
Tommo @ May 5th 2009 10:44PM

Newone @ May 5th 2009 7:18PM
Where are the other crapgadget's to vote for? Or is this that mutch clear winner?
I mean seriously if Obama usb stick whitch can be used as a necklace gets nominated why not these? Especially as they are made bulkier than necessarary with the cases.
Level 5 @ May 5th 2009 7:34PM
These are mad dope, I'd love a TR-909 myself. ;)
PW @ May 5th 2009 9:15PM
These look awesome, but be wary of doing pre-orders through Paypal. Paypal does not like this.
SoundsAndGear.com @ May 6th 2009 6:36AM
@Tommo
you folks around here are impossible man lol, why do you think I am selling these? If I was selling these you would know it.
You guys must live sheltered lives dude.
Someone sent me the link to this post on twitter, I came over and responded, now I get accused of selling them.
Go head man, search it out, you won't find me connected to these things in any way other than a customer lol.
peace man.
Sinosure @ May 7th 2009 4:49PM
