Dell XPS 16 gets extra glossy Crimson Red option

Dell took a slightly different tact with its new XPS 13 and XPS 16 laptops by offering them only in basic black (or Obsidian Black, to be exact), but it looks like the company is slowly returning to its more accommodating ways by adding a new "high gloss" Crimson Red option to the XPS 16. As you can see above, however, you'll have to shell out an extra fifty bucks for that added bit of eye candy, and it doesn't look like it's available on the smaller XPS 13 quite just yet, though it seems safe to bet that it will be sooner or later.

Come on, I have been waiting for an update on Studio XPS 16 for months and this is it? Where is the ATi 4850 (possibly with support of hybrid power)? Where is the improved heat exhaust? Where is the Li-polymer battery?
This will end up as the product red option.
I am still waiting for an Adamo to show up at the Dell outlet so I can snap it up for $1200..
And where are those baby Adamo's Dell???

The phrase is "a different tack", coming from sailing, referring to setting a different course.
Taking a different tact would be an interesting pun, if they were being unusually polite, but it falls very flat here.
I completely agree with idiot...the ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3670 is NOT good enough for this "premium" notebook. Many owners of the Studio XPS 16 also have complained about the exhaust vent being partially blocked by design. Hard to believe engineers or designers didn't see this. Oh well, cross this notebook off my wish list. Come on Dell, get it together before Acer overtakes you for No 2!
How about a "No Gloss" with aluminum instead of the leather? That is the only thing I don't like about my Studio XPS 13.

I love mine, just wish it wasn't draped in meat, coated in ultra high gloss plastic, and was a little bit more well ventilated.
It's extremely well built, performs great, and has been super reliable.

I would prefer a brushed aluminum finish with no leather and no gloss on a super thin LED display, better graphics card and a better heat exhaust system. Good system, but somehow I think the XPS M1530 looks sleeker and less tacky - if only they would let us configure them with stuff like the XPS Studio 16. XPS M1530 no longer has 1920x1200 resolution screen after they added the LED monitors to them.
Strange, when I go to configure the XPS Studio 16 on their web site, I see no such option!

I am not seeing it either, though I can't say I'm overly bummed about it! I ordered this last month (though I STILL haven't received it! But I'll save my gripes for another day . . . ) and I definitely would prefer black over red. As said earlier, I would be much more interested in seeing the fixed heat exhaust and better something better than the 3670.
Well I just clicked on in this post and I now see the option, but I'm not seeing it by navigating through Dell's site. Odd.

Even so, I dislike the Studio XPS notebooks.
