Sony Ericsson president: PlayStation phone "could happen"

Well, this is certainly one rumor that just won't die -- nor is it likely to, not as long as the company has its hands in both manufacturing handsets and game consoles. According to an article in the Financial Times, Sony Ericsson president Hideki "Handsome Dick" Komiyama discusses his struggle to reposition the company as one the world's top three phone makers. Among bright ideas and desperate measures mulled over, the man in charge lets slip that no plan is too crazy or far-fetched to consider. Even a PlayStation-branded phone? "Could happen," he is quoted as saying. And there you have it! Begin warrantless speculation: now.

Drop a slider qwerty out the back with some 3g downloading on the side. I wouldn't mind downloading movies via wireless carrier and viewing them on the psp's amazing screen. A nice blue tooth headset is in order though. I laugh watching people hold sidekicks up to their ear . I might pee myself if i saw someone saying hello into their PSP.

You know what I would love, for the phone part to somehow be integrated in just a bluetooth headset. That way we can play on our PSPs and not be obstructed by a phone call.
That thing is hideous. It will never sell, unless the buyer is blind. That better not be the design, because we can all tell them not to bother.
What a fucking disaster. Holy crap, I didn't think anyone could design that badly outside of architecture. :o
If Sony were to make PSphone it would change the game. It would attract non gamers and it would give them the edge over both Apple and Nintendo.

Every time I think about the PSP Phone, I can't help to think what a horrible idea it is. It would turn out to be a huge failure like the Nokia N-GAGE.
