MSI X320 ultralight escapes its box
We've already spent some time ogling over the MSI X-Slim X320 in person, but the ultrathin laptop is starting to ship out in Europe, and these are the first unboxing photos we've come across. Sadly it looks like retail units will be festooned with an nasty array of stickers across the palm rest, but overall it looks like MSI's pulled off a nice little riff on the MacBook Air theme. Full set of pics at the read link.

should've used those stickers to hold wires in place
*rimshot
I wish I could uprank your comment some more.
Why mimic everything that Apple designs beautifully after working hard at it, instead of designing something original? Johnny Ive is really one of a kind.
Go. Away.
Yes, the inventor of rounded rectangles and beveled edges.
Must be really hard work.

that does NOT look like an Air. heres a pic of the air so you can compare (also i'm a poet and didn't know it!):

also you CAN take those stickers off...
It's nice that they were able to make it so thin, but why does it have to look like they took parts from a bunch of different laptops and tried to squeeze them into one machine? That keyboard is damn ugly and the body looks really uninspired.
The stickers deplete the chance that this will eat the MBAs market share
it is not a qwerty keyboard its a qwertz..just saying
Looks swedish with the åäö to the right of the keyboard.
kezboard
using the quintessential netbook processor and copying the Sony keyboard and making a slim notebook is mimicry of Apple? As far as the keyboard goes ... I agree. Except ... here's another pic of that same keyboard, so I wonder if it comes in a couple of colors: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/msi-laptops-cebit_1533.jpg
Stickers can be removed.
But wasn't that keyboard black earlier?
Sure they can be removed, leaving a sticky messy gue behind...bad.
I remember Energy Star stickers requirement on PCs from the 80's. Why do we need them in 2009?
@Dave: These stickers are temporary stickers. They use glue designed for easy removal and don't usually leave a nasty residue - at the worst, nothing a quick wipe with a damp cloth won't solve.
Almost every laptop, monitor, TV, etc has such stickers. They're primarily designed either for licensing requirements (MS logo stickers etc) or to tout features when on display models in-store. Some people - *cough* my dad *cough* - insist on leaving the damn things on ('because otherwise how would i remember which kind of processor it had'), which is really irritating... but if it's your own laptop, that won't be a problem.
Pro tip: it will also be possible to remove the big triangle covering the top right screen corner!
"festooned" lmao
Best netbook yet...I might actually get one of these!
I bet it runs osx86 nicely, also on the inside I bet it has masking tape too, thats how they roll
Why does everyone get so worked up about the stickers?
They peel off, you know. A little iso alcohol to remove any left over glue and voila.
Unlike the tags on a pillow, it's not illegal to remove them.
>_> Quit picking on me.
It's only illegal for stores to remove the tags on pillows, not the end users. So go indulge yourself, and liberate all your pillows from their tyrannical tags.
At first I thought this was the new macbook air, but the second I saw the windows sticker I know the MSi is destined to failure. The plastic build quality isn't helping either.
WD-40 works great for removing stickers!
It's very easy to remove the stickers. Just peel them off! Here is the result: http://www.newgadgets.de/2496/das-blackbook-air/
