11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

Dr. Mobile had its first few 8.9-inch FreeStyle Minis on display at CES, and we've already gotten a glimpse of VIA's 11.6-inch FreeStyle prototype, but the VIA-sponsored How To Be Mobile site is now showing off Dr. Mobile's own version of the larger thin and light netbook which, as you can see above, comes in many flavors. Expectedly, the specs are pretty much in line with VIA's prototype, and include a 1.3GHz Nano processor, a 1366 x 768 resolution on that 11.6-inch screen, up to 4GB of RAM, your choice of SSD or standard hard drives, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam, among other standard features. With the Dr. Mobile name, however, comes a slew of different style options that range form basic white and black to metallic red and eye-catching yellow option that sports a carbon fiber-type finish. Still no word on pricing, unfortunately, but it looks like they should be rolling out in the next month or so. Head on past the break for the video.

4GB RAM? Nice! No Atom? Pass...
With a whole 1.3ghz of processing power. lol, who sets up these specs.
VIA's Nano (which I assume is under the hood of this thing) has always been way faster than the Atom. VIA just did a horrible job getting the chips out the door. But 4GB of RAM.... yeah, that's a bit much I think.
Tell me about it. So much RAM and so little processing power is completely pointless.
The VIA Nano processor has consistently been shown to run faster then the Atom, it's not all about the Ghz rating people. And the VIA Nano is even capable of running vista at very acceptable levels, something which the Atom can not do consistently. Personally I can't wait for these, if they enter the market at a similar price to current netbooks then I may be tempted to buy one and slap on a linux OS and use it as my portable machine. Because although I already have my main laptop, it's rather old and heavy which makes carrying it a pain and not usually worth it.

Yup, unless you like having your OS and apps cached. Then it's pretty sweet. As for "no Atom, pass" look up some benchmarks, how fast do you think an Atom is?
The only this that could make this netbook the slightest bit interesting would be a very low price.
Wake me when the 17 inch netbook comes out...
Cool! Add a slim DVD-RW built in, a touch screen and an illuminated keyboard and I am sold!
The Dell Mini 10v just came out. What a joke. Yeah its now the better Atom processor but it still is stuck with 1 gb of memory. Yeah the keyboard is better than the Mini 9 and you have a choice of HD or SSD and the price is $299 but is it worth it ? Nope. There are other netbooks out there that offer more for the about the same bucks.
Dude, it's the _slower_ Atom processor in the 10v, that's why it's $100 _less_
If this can do at least 1080i decoding I may be interested.
anthing over 10.5 in. should not be called a netbook.
Looks good to me! I went through a bunch of 10 inch netbooks and the Dell Mini 12, before I went BACK to using an ancient 10.6 inch Sony ultra portable BECAUSE the 1366 x 768 resolution is so much more convenient for scrolling, remote access to my desktop, etc. I predict that 11.6 screen size and the 1366 x 768 resolution is the trend for the near future of new netbooks and should draw some buyers.
The yelolow/carbon color combo looks hot.
No OSx86 on here, just 'cause of the processor! Boo!
