Video: Polish students take building light shows to the next level
Our friends at Engadget Polska caught this video of a giant lightshow -- a nerdworks, if you will -- put on by a group of students at Wrocław University of Technology. This is not the first time we've seen such a display, nor is it a first for this particular group, who call themselves Projekt P.I.W.O. -- but it is one of the best (and longest). The ten minute show includes much classic geekery -- Pong, Tetris, Dr. Mario, and Michael Jackson. Yes, that's right: Michael Jackson. Check the video after the break.

This is cooler than hooking my SNES to my plasma...
This video is made of pure win.
especially the Michael Jackson part
Did Laura just mistake Arkanoid for Pong? What a shame!?
Gotta love the Man-Poodle interface at 3:01
Did anyone else see the sexin' at 3:01?
X-Files opening sequence FTW!
That is impressive! I wonder what kind of students they are...
Virgins.
it's called P.I.W.O not P.I.O.W., and the word 'piwo' means 'beer' in Polish btw;-)
There is small mistake. Project is called P.I.W.O (in english- beer). In original it is Potezny Indekowany Wyswietlacz Okienny (Enormous Indexed Window Display)
Potężny Indeksowany Wyświetlacz Okienny
full of win
Their economy might be ruined over-borrowing from European banks; but they at least they know how to spend that borrowed money.
Do you even know what you are talking about?
"but they at least they know how to spend that borrowed money"
Unlike Americans...
@Wishmaster
I'm sorry, was I mistaken that the IMF just gave Poland a 21 billion dollar emergency line of credit? THe IMF wouldn't do so without concern of account deficits and possible liquidity/solvency issues; being that Poland is about 2x that of western European countries vs. GDP. The (money, and subsequent) debt had to come from somewhere. It came mostly from British and other European banks cashing in on the economic boom in Eastern europe in the 1990s and early 2000s. So yes, Poland is highly leveraged. And yeah, it's over borrowed. And yeah, I think I have an idea what I'm talking about.
and messing with an eletrical grid fits in how with your story?
Yes you are mistaken. Poland got credit ... it's just not emergency. Polish economy suffered, becouse it was put in the same "bag" with Hungary and other near bankrupt central/eastern Europe countries.
Still, Poland has one of the most stable economies in Europe.

Michael Jackson FTW
Boom De Ya Da!
awesome!
nice.
That was seriously cool! Hats off!
I want to play SNAKE on that screen...
Why do people take flash picture!?
They don't know how to override their camera's settings.
It depresses me that so many people can't figure out when it is counterproductive to have flash turned on, or don't know how to turn it off. But these people can vote! -Gadzooks.
I want to play SNAKE on that screen...
Wow. Quite an astonishing display of nerdiness. Now how do I do this with my house lights?
amazing
00.31 i see a swastika...
so, its time to meet the doctor ;)
This is a great improvement over their first attempt during the day and turning lights off in sequence.
you're just an idiot.
they need a bigger building. too pixelated
thats freakin amazing, but i'd hate to be inside of that building
Boring.

I don't think they call themselves Projekt P.I.W.O. "P.I.W.O." is just a project name and this is its 3rd edition. They've made it because of students' holiday in Poland called juwenalia. And the building is students' dormitory.
Poland ftw ;]
D-E-V-O...
I don't see the tetris? :)
Umm isn't this old news? by like a year or more?
Wroclaw, Poland! My place of birth and the centre of human genious apparently! Clever name since PIWO is beer and Poland makes some mean brews!

common normal topics on the internet include: computers/electronics, women, video game/movie references, current world events, insulting other people, and of course the topic of the thread. Talking about drugs (other than cannibus) makes your comment seem strange and out of place, by doing so you are drawing attention to yourself in a negative way. I suggest sticking to the common topics. Welcome to the internet.
@owen
what's up your butt?
Thats epic!
