Albatron storms back with 10.2-inch ultrathin netbook
Nice timing, Albatron. With the whole world feeling that the time is right to enter the quaint and mysterious realm of "thin and light" netbooks, this just proves that you're totally vibing with money-hungry suits the world over. Truth be told, there's not much we know about the admittedly striking laptop above. It's got a 10.2-inch panel, weighs around 2.2 pounds and packs at least an audio input and output. We're promised that more images and even a video are on the horizon, so hold tight, vaquero.

"ultrathin" I think is a misnomer judging by that picture.
Looks pretty fucking thin to me, for a netbook. Most are that overdone wedge shape.
Don't count the reflection.
this is the result when they remove the VGA port that i told them to remove a long time ago. n if u need to hook it up to a projector, get an adapter.
"Albatron"? sounds like a new Transformer
Goes from a robot to a giant bird of doom!
It does and it reminds me of that split-off Asus brand called "Pegatron." As long as they don't brand their machines with their bad novelty brand name(s), I'll consider buying one. It really depends on the specs, though.
Not as good as the MB Air!!!!
...is what an apple fanboy is going to say.
Come on !
no need to be ashamed for being one of them. /jk
Well, it's not. But would you expect it to be?
Albatron made be think of albatross.
Hes a Decepticon with a major issue or secret holding him down causing him to be evil.... The story writes itself. I agree with the transformer theory.
Their motto is "Captures the spirit of the albatross". Chinese seem to have some special love for seagulls, if you see how many Chinese companies include seagull or albatross in their names.
They seem to announce a lot of interesting products with none of them available to purchase in the US. So I don't quite understand why their announcements get so much press in the blogs here.
Removable battery?
It has Wimax
You did not answer that question. and neither did I.
Unfortunately, its probably just a 3 cell bettery. thin and light = plug it in a lot.
@Matthew C
My German may be rusty but I definitely heard sechs cell.
Specs and video have been released:

At least the battery is removable... or is it? "Jesus..come on!"
many specs)
Albatron has been on the market for some time. I know used to have a 6600GT from them.
Not as thin as the Macbook Air.
Less than a quarter as much as the MacBook Air.
No, but unlike Macbook air, this is something useful.
Nothing is a thin as a Macbook Air! My iPod Touch isn't as thin as a Macbook Air.
What the hell is this?
ALERT!
Still looking for a 10.2" netbook with Ion and a 1280x800 display that doesn't look like crap and runs under $350.
I'm afraid you'll have to be looking for quite a while.
they made it 5 years ago: Sharp mm20. 10 inch display that weighed 2lbs with its own graphics from ATI. it was thin and powerful. unfortunately, they dont make it anymore. you can get it used from eBay for about $200 now.
Looks quite impressive... Really like the looks of the materials and the design... the specs looks like it's old-wine-on-new-bottles, but wonder how the whole "Hachintosh" will work out??
Looks damns sweet for a netbook, touchpad likely a tad too small, but what the hell is the deal with that VGA/Ethernet dongle??? O.o
When he was going in between German and English at the beginning I kept thinking my German was getting a lot better and then suddenly a lot worse.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Yes, that is becoming more and more common in Germany.
MICROSOFT FTW!!!
APPLESUX!!!
Seriously, do you have tourettes?
So it looks like Albatron is the ODM for the Gigabyte S1024...interesting how an ODM is branding another ODM's design for sale...
Just look at the Gigabyte Thin Note here: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Notebook/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=3020
These seem to be identical, so probably the Albatron is just an OEM version of the Thin Note.
Does it come with wafers?
OF COURSE YOU DON'T GET ANY WAFERS WITH IT, YOU C*&%!
I'm still not sure if I am ready to switch from my laptop to a netbook, but this new Albatron is indeed rather appealing.
Did it just get sexy in here??
Damn, if they make a full sized notebook with good specs that looks that good I'll take 2!
I had no idea the word 'bang' was pronounced 'bang' in Germany too. As he says when he plugs in the VGA adapter.
And at 1:28 he says the f'.
Is it fast?
What does "Ethernet" translate to from German to English?
It was beautiful to me, then he opened it and I saw a glossy display......
Alright, I'm sold. Where do I get one? Amazon doesn't have anything by Albatron.
I wish I spoke German. No, I really do wish I spoke German.
I like that cleaner look, unlike all current netbooks today that are pretty much clones of each other. However, I don't like ports on the back, prefer them to be on the sides for easier access. Wonder how's the battery life.
