I SWEAR IF THEY DONT RELEASE A SLIM PS3 ILL PUNCH A BABY.
ha
I say real. If this was a Chinese knock-off of the system they couldn't get away with having the Sony Logo on the system and the box. And plus the new "PS3" lettering looks similar (not exact) to the "PSP" lettering. And since they are revitalizing the PSP at this E3 maybe their doing the same with the PS3.
Its real. Look at the box photo. That is a flat box before being properly "put together". The copyrighted symbols on it are all real and accounted for. The PS3 is about due for a design change and emblem change, what you people are seeing is exactly that. If Sony does decide to continue with this, it will most likely not be the exact same as we see in these photos. All evidence points to these photos as having been real. There are absolutely no discrepencies in them whatsoever. Upon examination of the document photographed of what is supposed to be a "legal document", its a fake. Rest easy engadget.com, you are safe.
I am going to sound like an idiot and a dreamer to some of you, but I just have a gut feeling that this might be Sony's way of gaining some ground AND some of the losses they've been having against Microsoft and Nintendo. Think about it. A slimmer PS3. A SLIMMER PRICE too? The possibilities are endless, I don't want to get my hopes up, but I've been holding off buying a PS3 this whole time. If this is true, my patience will be rewarded. Let us hope and pray this is legit...
God i hope there is a PS3 Slim, but i don't think this is it.
Why? Coz it looks cheap and ugly as hell! The current model, although large, looks sexy as hell.. this thing looks like it was spewed up
You know it looks pretty real to me. The font is probably changed to look more "slim" and the playstation network thing looks familiar
A BIG STFU to those mutafukas ! Cease & desists, what a LAUGH, tell them to contact me, I'll smash them.
BTW that "new" PS3 looks horrible, just ungly and horrible.

Well, I don't know how much of this is real or fake, but I'll point out some flaws in the claim that it's real.
First off, in the picture of the box, there's a lip where the eject and power buttons are. Very similar to the current model PS3, but how come the other pictures don't have that same lip? I'm very curious about that.
