Look up there, folks. That's the future of Sony's hopes and dreams in the handheld gaming sector. With just hours to go before the company's official E3 2009 press event, it looks like the pieces are all coming together. First a UMD-less game release, then a highly credible mole giving the PSP Go a name, and now -- live action shots. The images here were sourced from an obviously slipped June 2009 Qore video, and aside from giving us a look at the slider-based system (which, let's be honest, looks a ton like the questionably successful mylo), we're also told that it'll tout 16GB of internal memory, built-in Bluetooth and an undisclosed memory slot. If all goes well, it'll ship this Fall for a price to be determined, and it's actually not slated to replace the PSP-3000, as both of 'em will attempt to live on store shelves harmoniously... at least for awhile. Oh, and don't worry -- we'll be on hand in LA to bring you all the impressions we can muster early next week.
two question: 1. does this not remind anyone of the tiny gameboy micro 2. just how long does Sony plan for this to last before it fades out of existance just like the gameboy micro?
It's Package of beauty and the beast. Beauty because of its new look and Beast because of its new features. But if someone has PSP 3000 it would be useless to repIace it with 4000 just because of its new look and features but for geeks of PSP it is a must thing to buy.
all you haters will be out there in line beating there pudds to get it. go design and build something better if you can and show us all how much better it could be
OK, seriously everyone is so high! The new PSP looks so much better than the first one and is dead sexy. And why would there be dual analog sticks? Who needs two besides the avid gamers who think that all of their needs need to be met? If you wanted two, then why did you get the first one in the first place because it didn't even have two? I thought gamers were smart!
Hi i think it looks good i would not mind having one are they out in nz (Chrisrchurch) yea for a pratice run it would be good you know having it out in the store to test i would enjoy that i mite buy one if its good I think sony did a good job at this product Thank-You.

Personally I like the new design - I much prefer the idea of downloadable games however this seems way more open to pirating than the previous PSP.
Also it may look good but I am unsure about the position of the analog stick and d-pad - I could see myself hitting the d-pad buttons accidentally.
I talk about this and more on my blog - http://www.pspgoguide.com (you don't have to visit it).
Are you KIDDING ME??? They make it into a slider and LEAVE OUT A QWERTY keyboard?! What a joke!!!
