ASUS' 11.6-inch Eee PC 1101HA comes alive at Computex
Remember that 11.6-inch Eee PC that was rumored to surface soon? Yeah, it's sitting in some nondescript corner of ASUS' booth at Computex. The show doesn't actually kick off in earnest until tomorrow, but we were able to grab the shot you see above in the meanwhile. So far, we know that the Eee PC 1101HA will feature a larger-than-usual 11.6-inch LCD, a 1,366 x 768 resolution, a battery good for "up to 11 hours" (color us skeptical), Intel's Atom Z520 / Z530 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, three USB 2.0 sockets, a multicard reader and a case that definitely takes a note from the recently launched Seashell line. Oddly, we were led to believe that two different six-cell batteries could be offered (2220mAh and 2800mAh), presumably for different markets. At any rate, we'll be swooping in tomorrow to snag a few more shots, so be sure to stick around -- ya heard?

Can't be that long until the eee bunch make a 16" desktop replacement at this rate...
More than 10inch is not a netbook anymore
I'll buy a netbook in 2009 Oct 499$
10 INCH 1280X720+ Windows 7
2GB DDR2 Ram + 320GB HD
Intel Pineview 2.0GHZ+Hardware accelerator Ion or similar
+5Hours battery under Full Load
Bluetooth/wireless/express card/sd card
Slim and light
And I'm going to buy a BigMac meal this evening £1.99.
Two 100% beef patties
Lettuce
Onions
Pickles
Cheese
Big Mac sauce
Sesame seed bun
Another question being, WILL IT BE OSX86 COMPATIBLE??? :O
I heard that Snow Leopard breaks most of this hackintosh stuff. I read an article detailing how the hackers were trying to work around it but having no luck earlier today. I'll post a link when I can find it.
Judging from a quick comparison between a shot of the original seashell (1008HA) and this picture up here, I am guessing the form factor doesnt change. Asus simply got ride of those thick boarders around the screen, which is great news for me if the price is right!
I am so proud of you for knowing whats coming up later one in this year!
But you should also know that netbooks cant have over 1GB of RAM!
There are also limits on the HDD size! Maybe you should do a little MORE homework before posting a comment and showing everyone your ignorance!
*Looks at the name*
Hahaha!
Will they still be netbooks when we see 17" versions of these?
interesting, so whats the specs of the Atom Z520 / Z530 ?
Z520: 1.33GHz
Z530: 1.6GHz
Both use GMA 500 chipset
yuck poulsbo
so what was that 10" 1024x600 crap all about? only for N270?
The spec is very similar to Dell Mini 12.
You mean the discontinued Dell Mini 12.
Nvidia ION and I'm sold.
Btw trying to make out the weight, is that 1.3kg?
Anything nvidia in it and I'm sold AGAINST it; stick with Dell mini10v for good Linux support (You can guarantee they'll sell the 720 high screen rather the 576 high screen as soon as I buy one)
"It's better with Windows." Is that a new slogan for XP?
Any guesses on the cost? I'd assume something north of $499...
Windows 7 Starter Edition with a new approach to netbook size and cpu restrictions? FACTS I need not stupid childish jokes!!!! FACTS!!!!!!
Is 1366x768 to high a resolution for 10'' since they are only putting it on the 11''s?
It looks like the first gen macbooks we are used to seeing.
You sound like the 1st generation iDiots like iEye we were used to hating.
The Acer Aspire One Killer: 11 hours of battery and 11,6 inch. So nice!
2 questions: Price? When?
This is sick
Throw in a Multitouch capable touch screen and i'll buy it right away :) grr when is the t101h coming...
Throw in a free monkey and I'm there too!
I've used several laptop size at my office, and the 12" was my favorite tradeoff between portability and usability.
10" is just plain too small. I need at least 1024x768 minimum before it's something that's useful -- especially if you're surfing the web. Most pages are designed for a larger screen. I'd rather carry around an extra 0.3 lbs and save my fingers from constant scrolling!
