Last time when Dell offered great graphic power to the average user was with the Inspiron 9400 -> Go 7900 GS.
And that was 3 years ago!
The studio 15 have a super nice ATI HD 4570 which is really nice for the cheap 850$ price. You can play Crysis at medium-high setting with that card (if the screen rez is not 1600x1200). Its 2x more powerful than the 9400m.
From time to time, Dell have some really amazing deals. You just have to know how to search the site.
You got to search for the dell coupons too. A quick google search can save you a hundred bucks some times.

Damned if I've ever drunk a Merlot that had that sort of colour. Frankly, the colour on Dell's site looks more like a muddy red but I don't expect that's a marketable colour. Merlot should be a shade of dark red/purple.
Red crap is still crap. Since Dell has no idea what design is I guess adding a color is their idea of a fresh new look.

I don't understand the hate for the Studio XPS 16. Dell did an amazing job with it and it is the best laptop I've ever owned--beautiful screen, good weight/size ratio, great power under the hood, speakers I can actually hear, comfortable keyboard. My only two complaints are the glossy screen and lack of any scroll function on the touchpad, but the screen is so bright I can see it without the slightest bit of trouble even in bright sunlight and I use a Logitech portable mouse so even these are practically non-issues. Whenever the shiny black finish becomes too fingerprinted I just take two seconds and wipe it down with a cleaning cloth...no big deal. Also, the leather strip at the top gives excellent grip anytime I am pulling my laptop out of my carry bag and looks great...why all the whining about it?
Rather have the black one. Love the studio xps 16 =p let the haters keep their nvidia laptops ... see if they last more than a year before the card says "meltdown"
Yeah, nVidia seems to have problems with laptop chipsets. I'm avoiding them at all costs now.

What is with all the craze about gloss lately? I wish they'd give you an option to switch to something non-glossy, instead of a mere color change. I absolutely abhor these fingerprint magnets and pseudo mirrors.
