AT&T's HTC Touch Pro2 hits the FCC
It looks like that slightly-tweaked version of the HTC Touch Pro2 codenamed "Fortress" and destined for AT&T is winding its way closer to store shelves -- a listing for a Rhodium 300 just popped up in the FCC database, complete with test results on all the necessary bands. So that's Rhodium 100 for T-Mobile, 400/500 for Sprint and Verizon (or vice-versa) and 300 for AT&T -- any questions?

So if they're all "Rhodium," what does the number beside them represent?
I suspect the baseband in all of them are identical, so what's the true difference?
differently branded versions for different networks is the normal thing...
HTC does this with all their phones. Either support for different frequencies, slightly different button layouts, etc.
So does this signify approval from the FCC? Anyone know the typical timeline between FCC approval and launch?
That's what i would like to know.
I still have my heavily modded ATT Tilt and will be ready for a new phone at the end of July (when contract is out). I would much rather the Touch Pro2 vs the current TouchPro (Fuze), but was waiting on confirmation from ATT.
I guess there is know exclusivity if they are all getting it.
I almost got a Fuze, looks like patience is going to pay off. Also coming from a Tilt and didn't like the loss of the direct access buttons on the Fuze versus a Tilt.
*Puts envelope to forehead*
Arizona State, Terminator Salvation, and your post.
*opens envelope*
Things that will all be lowly ranked by this evening.
I am patiently waiting for this baby to come to ATT.
I wonder if they'll call it the "Tilt 2" since the Fuze didn't have the tilt feature.
Hmm...
As much as I love my Fuze, the keyboard is not great for prolong use. Can't wait to get the Touch Pro 2.
Looks like 850 and 1900 bands only. I guess no 3G with this when I go to Europe, huh. Also, couldn't find any pictures of the keyboard. Anyone know if it'll be normal, or the weird setup from the recently leaked ones? (with # keys on the side)
Depends on where you are. The EU version will most likely have a normal keyboard with the numbers along the top, like a real keyboard. The US att version will most likely be screwed up like the Tilt's keyboard, with the keys being a secondary function key.
I can't wait until the baby is available.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
I've been waiting to hear the good news on this phone! I thought about settling for a Samsung Jack, but realized I would be unhappy with it and I decided I liked the Touch Pro 2 more than I wanted the Nokia N97. I hope they offer a decent price point for upgrades =D
great, now where's verizon's!?!?!?
i thought salvation kicked ass. o.O
this really isn't helping. i want to be a good boy and wait for this, the tg01, omnia hd, "superstar" and "firestone" all to come out so i can compare them. but when i see this and start to think that it will be out in about a month, it makes me want to jump the gun.
good thing i have two contracts XD
Salvation wasn't the best (nor the laser gun filled future we'd been promised previously), but it wasn't THAT bad :(
I don't see much to sway me from the Touch Pro. I admit the tilting screen is something the Fuze desperately needed but still...
If history repeats itself, it will still be at least a couple of months before AT&T releases the Fortress:

Excellent point.
I can't believe no one has asked this: who gets the 200?
Looks like the release date is going to be closer to September 30th,
2009..
According to the Confidentiality Letter, they are requesting a
short-term confidentiality request on the External Photos, Internal Photos,
Test Setup Photos, and the User Manual until that date.
well that's good! we should know the rest of the phones in htc"s line-up by then.
WANT.
I cant believe how fugly these red keyboard units are. If this is what AT&T actually offer I'm going to have to look elsewhere which is amazing considering i've been hanging out for this handset for at least 6 months.
Fortress can F off if this is considered 'an enhancement'.

So can anyone confirm that this will have the same 528 processor that the FUZE has?
