EA's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 with Wii MotionPlus now shipping

It may not seem quite as impressive now that Microsoft and Sony have shown off their visions of a motion-controlled future, but Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus is still as good as it gets when it comes to consoles today and, as promised, it's now finally shipping alongside the latest Tiger Woods game. That may not be exactly what Nintendo had in mind when it first unveiled MotionPlus way back at last year's E3, but the first-party wares won't be too far behind, with its own Wii Sports Resort title (and requisite bundle) still on track for a launch late next month. If you're up for a little golf in the meantime, however, you can pick up the Tiger Woods game bundled with Wii MotionPlus for $59.99, or the standalone game (still playable with the standard Wiimote) for $49.99.

not first, I also heard this has a disc golf add on, how sweet, does it also having a loading zone in the woods?
not first FAIL?

Judging by the picture, Tiger was so overjoyed that they had to sedate him with a blow dart to the neck the instant the picture was snapped.
Don't buy! Wait for natal!!
Yes. Wait for vaporware. Always better to wait then have fun now. On that note, Duke Nukem Forever should be coming out any day. I heard it's Natal compatible too! It actually tracks your online motions as you shove a wiimote up your ass.
Or play this now and Natal later.
I still don't really get the added functionality. What difference would it make in a game like this?
It can accurately track every movement of your swing, to fully replicate the trajectory of the ball based on it. So basically, its going to make you suck in the game as much as you do out on the fairway.
Still seems pretty impressive. It's the only motion tech that doesn't require a camera. Still, not enough to get me to buy a Tiger Woods game.
But there is this infrared sensor bar that is required, right? It's like a camera IMO, just less less advanced.
@Christian G
based on how the controller is used for Wii Sports Golf, I'm guessing the sensor bar isn't actually used at all for this game. The controller can't "see" the bar when you are swinging it down. The sensor bar is mostly used for pointing to on screen objects, the motion sensors are independent.
Good point!
whats gonna happen to the wii when xbox comes out with its ps2 technology and sony with their improvement on ps2 tech
im referring to how old the camera game tech is cause of how many years ago sony introduced eye toy for the ps2
My guess is that they will drop the price of the Wii to $199 or $149 and sell millions more systems and laugh all the way to the bank.
nice try but i dont think you know that the xbox 360 is the highest selling system right now
Comparing Project Natal to the Eyetoy just makes you look like an idiot. The Eyetoy can only do 2D and Project Natal can track objects in a 3D space.
but its still using a camera, that was an old idea that didnt last long, plus if im playing a fighting game with this project thing how stupid am i gonna look standing in front of my tv punching the air?
@jjrudey - Saying someone thought of a camera interface a long time ago is like saying someone though of cold fusion a long time ago. The point is no one has actually implemented it so that it really works. If Natal pulls that off, it is serious innovation. Honestly, would inventing a working teleporter (ala Star Trek) be no big deal since people already thought of the idea?
nice try jjudey, but i dont think you know that the Wii is the highest selling system right now. Where are you getting your information?
wii = 50.39 million sold

360 = 30.2 millions old

k thnx bai
This game actually doesn't look too bad. Great for golf enthusiast to practice.
Also did not actually know there was such a thing as a "wii fanboy", they sure do love playing with their wii.
Tiger Wood Golf w/ Wii MotionPlus. Yeah!
Tiger Wood Golf w/ Wii Graphics. Boo!!
I'd rather see the grass and rain in 1080p, so this is another title I'll buy for my 360 rather than my Wii.
Nintendo can't wait to release a new console in 5 more years like Sony and MS. They need to close that graphics gap.
... Are you kidding?
You'd rather see the blades of grass than have complete, realistic control over your club?
KAAAAAHHHN!
It looks like a good cheap way to get a MotionPlus.
But yeah, even my Nintendo obsessed kids are looking at the other two consoles now.
I still think it's the *games* that will drag them away from their Wii, not the controller. They have no interest in shooters like Gears of War, but more games like Little Big Planet or a new Katamari that are aimed at the mindset of the Nintendo player will be the best way to make converts.
can't wait to see youtube videos of guys doing golf swings only to throw the controller through their plasma.
Yeah, because when swinging a golf club your natural instinct is to let go of it....
Thanks !!
It's amusing to think that there are still people out there that think Natal will impact Wii sales. Totally different demographic, plus if I'm not mistaken, Wii already surpassed 360 in consoles sold. The Wii caters to a FAR broader range of users.
Fool me once, shame on Wii
i'd like
WOODS:
"aaagh! It burns! Get it off me! Get it off me! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGH!"
CAMERAMAN:
"click"
Honestly folks, it looks like he's in pain. -_-
so where can you get his game? UK play has it in july release?
