HP Mini 110 netbook gets 1366 x 768 display option

HP's Mini 110 netbook already had quite a bit going for it as it is, including a fair number of configuration options, but it looks like HP has now sweetened the deal even further by adding a 1366 x 768 display option. That upgraded screen is also thankfully the same anti-glare type of display that's been previously available with the lower res, and it'll set you back a fairly reasonable $30 on top of the base $329.99 price for the XP-based netbook (it's not currently available for the Mi Edition Mini). Better still, there just so happens to be a $30 off coupon floating around to completely even things out, which you can find by hitting up the link below before heading to HP's site.

Do you get a free upgrade to Win 7 on this?
yokel @ Jul 9th 2009 6:54PM
It's an XP netbook... so no you don't unfortunately.

meh just use the RC1, by the time the real deal comes out you should have enough saved to cop a real version :)

I am a little confused. Both the HD accelerator and 1366 x 768 display have been available since the last post:

I just actually considered buying a netbook....
I'm scared.
Will someone hold me?

Make sure you get that graphics accelerator chip for 30 more, then you can make use of that screen by sing 720p content on a 720p+ screen.
pika2000 @ Jul 9th 2009 6:49PM
Good to see the higher res screen becoming more and more common. Hopefully next is useful battery life.
Wolfticket @ Jul 9th 2009 7:07PM
It's not $30 more, it's just that the only other option is $30 less.

5+3=8
8-3=5

*Faceplam*, they selected the more expensive monitor for the screen shot, that is not the base option
Jonathan @ Jul 9th 2009 7:08PM
I actually don't think that coupon code is supposed to be usable for the Mini, so I wouldn't be surprised if it stops working pretty darn soon.
johnny.one.eye @ Jul 9th 2009 7:15PM
Actually, they also started listing the Broadcom HD video accelerator now too. Not sure if that's new or not.

WTFF... I just bought one of these last week and got it yesterday. The only thing I have been complaining about is the screen resolution and then they do this. ~_~
Cheesus(Crust) @ Jul 9th 2009 7:30PM
Pretty sure you can return it. It will be worth it when you have that 720p screen and be able to play content to use it,
Keith @ Jul 9th 2009 7:45PM
How is OS X compatibility on this? I was going to pickup a Dell Mini 9, but the specs here are so much better...
surfwax95 @ Jul 9th 2009 8:25PM
I've got 10.5.5 running on my 110. Everything works except for the microphone.

Sony Vaio W(hat)?
I will be buying this in the near future.

I love the form factor on HP's Mini, 1" thick with a full keyboard!
.. but I won't purchase another netbook till they do HD and flash.
kornchild2002 @ Jul 10th 2009 9:22AM
I guess you won't want this one since it has an option for a Broadcom HD accelerator chip that can playback 1080p content with future support coming from Adobe and their Flash platform...
Cray @ Jul 9th 2009 10:35PM
I love the form factor of this netbook, but I wish we could get them with high-end specs.
Anticrawl @ Jul 9th 2009 10:40PM
Uhhhhh Fuck the Mini 110 XP Netbook. They need to add an HD screen option for the Mini 110 Mi Netbook so I can keep the 2 gb of ram and lose the cost of the OS. For just 50 bucks more you can get the Mi version with 2gb of ram and a 64gb SSD drive vs the 1gb of ram and 32gb SSD for the XP version.
EB @ Jul 10th 2009 1:08AM
Spend around 20 dollars on newegg.com and upgrade the RAM yourself.
What a whiner
murray @ Jul 10th 2009 12:23AM
Good to see netbooks are finally getting useful screens. It may actually be worth getting one to replace my 5 year old Lifebook now. Are the SSDs in these HP things any good?
spike @ Jul 10th 2009 2:34AM
Wow. Talk about regretful shopping. I just purchased two of these from BestBuy about 2 weeks ago. The exact same model was both $399 on Hp's website and in store. Now the price is lowered and its considered a BestBuy "outlet" item. So no price matching.
spike @ Jul 10th 2009 2:42AM
edit: I bought the OLDER edition two weeks ago from BestBuy. Better computer for a cheaper price.
gadgeteer @ Jul 10th 2009 3:51AM
HDMI port? HP site is offline atm.

On the 110 XP where are the mouse keys?? side or bottom--hp sales site shows two different pics
