LG X13 netbook spotted in FCC photo shoot
Sure, its phone lineup has more or less gone the way of the KIRF, but LG's other endeavors are decidedly more interesting, and this new X13 netbook (more than likely the X130 when it launches) that's popped up in the FCC is no exception. Compared with the X120, the body here appears to have a slightly wider form factor and the front doesn't curve quite as dramatically. All the FCC is testing for is Bluetooth and WiFI -- sorry 3G hopefuls -- but specs-wise, we'd venture a guess and say it's sporting a 1.6GHz Atom processor, 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM... you know, the same specs found in virtually every other netbook in existence. Hey, maybe we'll get proven wrong, but with no clue on when LG's going official with this one, we might be waiting quite some time for verification.

When you think of LG's phones, this should come as no surprise. LG is the company who sits on the sides and cherry picks aspects from other manufacturer's phones and then builds a cheaper amalgam. This is a formula for steady business, but it will never make them a top competitor.

Since when does the FCC take decent photos that have DOF?

Why would you want a built-in 3G card? You'd be stuck with one of two standards then (GSM or CDMA). The feature to argue for is an ExpressCard slot.

I am sick and tired of hearing about the billions of netbooks in the market today. I cannot understand why someone would want to pay $300+ for enough computing power to maybe use Microsoft Office, surf the web, and a 8"-10" screen. For $50-$100 more they can actually get a real laptop! Plus Asus releases a new Eee PC like every four seconds and now all the other electronics companies are hopping on the bandwagon.

...uh, for 99% of users, that's all they ever do. plus, web apps make normal apps like photo editing software obsolete for most people that just want to do basic things.
thorn2200 @ Jul 11th 2009 9:30PM
The fact that this article has gotten 10 comments in over 8 hours really shows how much people don't care about all these new netbooks which are exactly the same as the last one million.

I'm kind of glad they're coming out with more and more netbooks. Can't wait til they're under 100 bucks :) All in due time..
