Rubik's TouchCube to make debut this weekend... on QVC

The time to step up your Rubik's game has finally arrived. You first mentioned Rubik's TouchCube on Engadget after the TouchCube was launched at The International American Toy Fair in February and now it is available to order for the first time via QVC's "Christmas in July" segment this weekend!
Fans of the iconic Rubik's Cube will now be able to experience the new game play of the Rubik's TouchCube's touch sensor technology. They can be the first to get their fingers on the Rubik's TouchCube by checking out QVC this weekend. Please visit www.rubikstouchcube.com for any additional information.

LOL. It was only a matter of time.
I'll stick with a real Rubick's cube, thanks.
Seriously.
You cant re-create a timeless sensation like that. The original cube became an icon of the 80s, and still is fun to play with today.
This is just a needless "update". A bad try at slapping a 21st century skin on it.
The new one also means that your current solve time will quadruple. No finger tricks = a fail speed solvers. (although I somewhat doubt that is their target market. :D )
Those are some nice hands
OMG is that one hand or two? It looks like one hand with a hideously deformed 6th or 7th finger.
I wonder if there's going to be a digital equivalent to taking the stickers off and solving it that way.
of course.... now its as simple as changing a few bulbs....
like 54 of them?
Depends. Is the current "status" of the device stored in RAM or Flash memory? If the former, just take the batteries out.
God damn those QVC wizards and their Infernal Tinkering, -To think that their dark arts go unimpeded by the Jesus brigade makes me cry in betwixt the whistling landfall of shells.
As a show piece as the original Rubik's cube in a display cabinet you don't need to do anything it shows it's self off, however the same could not be said for this new tech toy, why? Well when the lights stop working or it wont charge anymore is it still an impressive looking bit of retro revamp?
"It's not every day that QVC gets first dibs on hot new gadget"
and this is no exception
Lawlz +1 for the truth!
It doesn't have to substitute the old one or pretend to emulate its fame. I don't see it as a bad copy but as a good idea that certainly will sell easily. Maybe it will end up at the cheapest corner shop for a few bucks and made in Taiwan.
YAWN!
Really, have we become so lazy that we can't even turn a Rubik's cube anymore?
QVC viewer have, and I bet it has helpful hints and an easy setting where the last 20 squares get done for you :)
too old school
Lame.
seems like a waste of money to me
YAY! Cant wait. I'm going to watch all day, and I promise you, I will be the first to get one! MUAHAHAHA!!!!!
=D
-Rocks
my iPWN can do this already with apps
Why would anyone want a rubik's cube that can't be solved with a butter knife?
Uh, airplanes?
so cool, yet so lame
Rubiks Cube was good-- IN THE EIGHTIES!!
Better check your source. QVC sold these LAST Christmas. My wife spent the whole segment mulling over buying them for our nieces/nephews.
I'm actually a bit excited. The last few Rubik's inventions were absolute crap. There hasn't been a good one since Rubik's Magic.
dealextreme.com stocks some rubik's toys cheap.
