This is showing the death of cheap netbooks. Pretty soon you won't be able to buy one for under $399. Getting the larger screen is great, as well as the longer battery.
@Luffy - it's still a gateway. It might as well be an eMachines. No matter how much they charge I wouldn't buy one. Nothing but problems from Acer products (except a monitor I got from Staples). My 1001HE is a champ with a long battery of it's own. I would have held out for one of these seashells but I couldn't wait.
It's good to see this netbook available after two months of waiting.
if you're going to spam your netbook site, you should at least do your research before posting a comment. The acer aspire one 11.6" is available at Costco for $349.99, and I wouldn't be surprised if it hits $299 by Tgiving/Xmas.
Hmm, i may have been a bit harsh with my comment, especially since stuff like the Acer Timeline 1810 is taking the netbook market into a more premium segment. Nonetheless, as long as the Atom exists, manufacturers wouldn't dare price 10-11.6 inch netbooks at anything higher than $350-400 after 3-6 months of being on the market.
I think the larger netbooks like this are going to continue to be a small category. Especially since Microsoft will only license Windows 7 starter edition on devices with screens 10" or below.
The X-Fi3 keeps with the company's commitment to audio fidelity, thanks to the apt-X codec, which supposedly offers audio quality similar to a wired connection when streaming. On that front, the device also handles FLAC files.
