A new model of Sony's ultraportable
VAIO P has just passed through the
FCC, leading us to surmise that we can probably expect a new model in the very near future. Details are still exceedingly slim on this one, but we know that this one -- model number PCG-1RSL -- will be about the same size as the current VAIO P, and that it packs 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth. The documentation's confidentiality expires in October, so we'll know all the juicy details by then -- if we haven't already found out via other channels. Fingers crossed that it's the
'mark 2' we heard about recently that could right some of those painful, painful wrongs.
If Sony gives us a screen size of 1024 x 768, I am interested.
I like the form factor.
Don't you know that the Vaio P's resolution is 1600 x 768 already? I'm thinking after you read this, your like a billion more interested. ^.^

There was a typo in my story - instead of PCG-1RSL it's PCG-1R2L. Sorry about that. - Sony Insider

Sony, ya don't need a redesign. you need a pricedrop. that's it. I would buy one if it was the price of a normal netbook.
I got my netbook with a faster processor, longer battery life, and sexier build, for $500 less than a VAIO P. I'm always at a loss as to why these sell at all.
they were at Staples on sale for 600.00
1600x900 , core duo ulv, and ion2 and i buy it NO MATTER THE PRICE.
Let's hope the 802.11n has support for 5Ghz channels this time...
Will be nice to see Rev 2 of this netbook from Sony. We like the Vaio P, it's certainly more inspired than Sony's other netbook offering, but it would be nice to see it at a more netbook-like price point.

Don't buy Sony products. Sony is disabling Intel hardware virtualization. If you like conspiracy theories you may deduct that Sony will install it's rootkit process in inaccessible virtual machine. I own Vaio and I spent 3 days removing what was preinstalled on it by Sony.
I have to find a link on comparative between SONY VAIO P and and a clone

Why cant they make the screen 1 inch wider?? it would then be a gem. I saw one at Sony centre and hell its tiny to see anything. Otherwise you have to lower resolution and defats the purpose of a high res backlit screen....One inch wider screen, Windows 7 and a centrino processor would make this thing brilliant(oh and 128SSD as standard)...AUS market always gets raw end of the deal with lesser models to choose from!!!!
