Why the world would would prefer a nettops which are less powerful and consuming almost same space.

Well, if you stick a Core 2 Duo in it, it's not really less powerful. And if you put an Atom in it, it's because you don't need it to be powerful and would like to save electricity and produce less heat.
Less powerful is a relative word these days. A cheap Atom processor with lower power consumption makes for a great combination if you want more purpose driven machines. The Atom is good enough for most tasks (hell, I've even edited standard def video from my digital cam with few problems). The EEE Top would make a great 'kitchen' computer, even without the ION on board, and I know a couple of people who are already using much less elegant kitchen computer solutions (repurposed older machines)
A Dual-Core Atom with 4GB of RAM on an ION board means nearly any game on the market will start up and run at least semi decently.
My MSI wind U100 with atom N270 and 2GB of RAM and GMA 950 can run Half-life 2 as high as 30 FPS with an average 23FPS.
With the proper Hardware and Software optimizations and a well maintained and clean/streamlined OS, I think atom machines are capable of surprisingly good performance.
So is that a multi-touch display?

The 4570 goes with the C2D, not the Atom.
Any pricing? Looks like a great start to a touchscreen jukebox style media player.

According to the website,
"The ASUS EeeTop ET20/22 Series can connect to external monitors, game consoles and other home entertainment devices via HDMI-in and SPDIF outputs (only for ET22 Series). "
Meaning that the HDMI in and SPDIF out are only on the ET22, not all of them.

No, its means the ET22 is the only one with SPDIF. They all have HDMI-in. Read the chart.
this is not all that powerful, but it will make a neat gift for your parents, relatives or just a friend that don't need a power house. this is perfect if all they want to do is surf the web, play and burn movies, and waste away hours of their lives playing spider solitaire.
Jesus Christ that GPU is overkill for a nettop. That slow ram and limited CPU won't take full advantage of it due to likely bottlenecks. Not to mention what kind of heat that thing must produce inside a small poorly ventilated case. I doubt they have anything other than the stock fan and compound on the chip too. Does a bluray drive and 1080p really require that much juice (rhetorical question)?
With all that aside I still want one for my kitchen. A TV tuner wouldn’t hurt either so I can just replace the Sharp LCD on a mount under my cabinets.
I assume it to run the Aero of Vista/Win 7 above anything. I doubt it's for gaming.
The ET22 has a Core 2 Duo though.
I would be interested in prices. The ET2203 is getting really close to the Sony Vaio 'all-in-wonder' desktop range. The only thing missing is a DTV tuner. I just wonder about the sucky video cards....
Not sure if they are aiming for it, but Asus has a real iMac competitor here.
I have been looking everywhere to be able to find just the keyboard and mouse that asus has here. Very stylish set. Asus offers no peripheral purchases nor have I been able to find any retailers online that have them. Oh well.
Nonsense. Every manufacturer offers replacement parts. I bought my EeeTop keyboard direct from ASUS.
I wanted a small keyboard like Apple's keyboard: slim, notebook keys, no keypad (to center the keyboard in front of me, and keep the mouse closer), but I hate white keys because they look nasty when they get dirty. I thought about those black rubber covers, but didn't like the feel. This ASUS keyboard is the only one I've ever seen that matches what I want. I tried it out at Fry's Electronics and liked it, so I took a photo of the part number underneath it and searched for it online. I ended up at the ASUS online store. At first, I couldn't find it, so I called ASUS, and the woman told me that it was a new model and would be available a few weeks later. Eventually, it was, and I'm typing with it now. I don't like the shiny black plastic that's seemingly on every consumer electronics product nowadays, so at some point I'll pry off the top part of the keyboard and paint it. At least the keys aren't shiny.
Wow, that's great, you wouldn't be willing to give me that part number would you? Pretty please, lol. I will be buying this immediately once I can get that part number.

-has a Core 2 Duo 6500 not 6400
-has 4GB standard not 2GB
-500GB hard drive is optional not standard (so the 22 does not necessarily have more space than a 20)
-22 inch is the only one with S/PDIF
Yes Kyle is right, there are two models of the ET22, and I don't know if both will be imported.
If you somehow find a decent USB TV tuner, the speedier model sounds like it might handle HTPC duties quite nicely, and it would look fantastic mounted above a rack of equipment in a wall. now we just need prices...
What I really miss is HDMI out... It would be nice to use this pretty thing as multimedia player with a touch screen and output video to big flat screen (or projector) and sound to AV receiver to decode and amplify advanced format of DD and DTS...
