I got Vgn Vaio Z series, and its great and all but compared to the thinkpads, its all sony quality
sony quality = shit quality
this laptop feels like a wafer crisp in my hand, any part of it you press on, in bends, you can stick yoour finger nail or bend back any peice of plastic anywhere to amazing extent.
I jsut have a feeling like one day this laptop is gona break (oneday soon) and it will be an extriemly heavy paperweight.
That is why i am selling it, and going back to my beloved Thinkpad x200 which i had 2 laptops before this as i was going on my Buy / sell for profit / buy other laptop to try / sell for profit whole thing.
I have a Z690, I love it. Spent wayyyyyyy too much on it, but I still love. Its kinda bendy, but its crazy thin. More powerful than many of my friends gaming desktops. Seriously. How can you compete with that? The harddrive went bad, and actually SENT SOMEBODY to fix it. Within 24 hours. Usually they will just send the part yadda yadda yadda, but damn. Out to my house! Sony quality is very nice. Maybe you just got a shitty one. Theres an Apple tax, and theres a Sony tax. If you don't like it don't buy it!
my vaio is normal, its not poor its the z530n i got it for 1200$ with MS cashback
I am not sure how this laptop is faster then a gaming desktop.. when you can buy a videocard for 60 bux that will completely own the one in this vaio. and a cpu for 75 bux, that will own one aswell.
The only thing this laptop has over teh Thinkpad x200 is (HDMI, and switchable graphics)
That is the main thing i miss about the Thinkpad. When i walk into a room i just throw my x200, or place it on a table without much care.
Now that i have this computer, i dont do that, and when i place it on a table i make sure it sits down carefully with no bumps.
Its just nice to have a ultraportable you can toss in your bag, or anywhere and know its all good. Ya it may weight a TINY big more, but that weight is due to its hardcore armor.
THe carbon fiber in the Z series is basically just for marketing. Its so think its a joke. If this laptop fell off a table it would be in 100 pieces.
The Rip is the latest addition to the Boogie eWriter line, devices that let you scribble notes and drawings and can be wiped away with the press of a button.

Weird, I've had a Z520N for a year now and I love it. Very solid machine (feels as sturdy or more than my old black Macbook, which set a high bar).
