Why on earth is it called 'Action News'?
Is that supposed to make people watch more news like it is some sort of movie?
I dread to think the kind of person that buys that load of toss.

I hate watching network news in the states... it's different EVERYWHERE else.
I just listen to public radio, at some times BBC's on, and it's better than most other types of news coverage.
It really depends on the market. This is an extreme. I'm from a larger market and there are two dinosaurs left that still try to go for the gravitas and all of that. They've both long been relegated to being field reporters and are not anchors. I've noticed smaller markets often have a lot of stories that make me go WTF? since there is no way they would be covered in larger markets and are nearly silly. If they are covered in larger markets there is less time given to them and it is carried with a lighter tone. There are few places and few stations that would cover a robbery the way that was done in this video.
if it helps them find them crooks, they had a darker shade of skin, judging from the video.

Um, one of the definitions of "decimate" is "to cause great destruction or harm to." (Thanks Merriam-Webster, http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/decimated). Perhaps you should use a dictionary before you tell someone they are using English improperly.
Too bad it's the display units, if they just went behind the door, they'd find wall to wall shelves of iPhones for the picking. The display units do have mobile me activated.
i am probably going to pass this store on my way to work today cuz i live right next to it. Thats crazy i dont know how these people do this kind of stuff. 23 macbook pros?! damn thas alot of money right there. i hope these guys get caught. i dont want them robbing no more apple stores. atleast not ones near me...
Unlike when a consumer gets their ipod stolen or lost, you can bet that Apple is going to track these serial numbers through iTunes.

Do you honestly think the thieves are hooking the iPhones up to iTunes before selling them on eBay or in a back alley? The thieves don't care that the merchandise can be tracked, they just care that it won't be tracked until after they've sold it all.
I don't think I can try this at my local Apple store, that IS my local apple store. I didn't know we had such skilled thieves in my area.
Good thing Apple put Magsafe on these. Never realized how easy it would be to just run with one plugged into the wall.

So wait... maybe im missing something... but the story seems to go, that somewhere in that video, the 5 kids flashed what appeared to be a gun, and in this situation, the hired "security guard" was supposed to run away and hide in the event of an "armed" robbery and then run back after they were gone?
Or is he a guard for the entire mall... and he just wasn't at the Apple store at this time? But then how would the kids have showed him what appeared to be a gun? Would he not have a gun too? Im just lost at the purpose of the security guard if they could not have at least slowed them down...
Most mall security guards are just there to deter casual thieves and vandals. He doesn't get paid enough to put his life on the line for Apple's merchandise.
this is true...I am a security officer and the vast majority of security in the USA does not carry firearms

It's not an indoor mall, it's an outdoor shopping complex. I know because I live right down the street from it.

not to mention the high probability that they wanted to show off...which wouldn't have been easy w/o cameras
its only a matter of time before someone makes an iphone app for this...i am sure it will allow you only the most die hard ilovers to be able to capture the thieves that betrayed their most precious idols...

This will never happen with the new, and soon to fail, Microsoft "me too" Store. If one of the perps happen to suggest looking into a Microsoft "me too" store, the surveillance video with enabled audio would capture the uncontrolled laughter from the perpetrators partners.
