HP Mini 311 may not be confirmed by the Mothership just yet, but that isn't stopping the ION-equipped netbook from popping up on the company's support pages, in 37 different sub-flavors (don't read too much into that, it's just the way the company works -- after all,
Pavilion z2300 has 31 entries of its own). It still doesn't answer the question of when we'll see the potent portable, but at least we know it's inevitable at this point.

That's so many different model variations!
Is there no way to streamline that? Maybe that's why HP's customer service has been having a hard time lately, even THEY can't figure out which model you're talking about!

It's all the variations they make for each distinct market where they'll be sold, like one is for Latin Americas, one for Brazil, one for Canada, one for France, one for Germany and such and such...
They also have different model numbers per retailer.
This makes it super-easy for retailers to deny price matches. Target might have the 1033 while BB has the 1034 and if Target is cheaper, BB won't price match because it's a different model, even though its really the same computer.

Am I the only the only one that likes the computers that HP has been releasing lately but hates their website with a passion? Looking for a particular model transports me back to circa 1999 design, and i wish they would update it to be a little more user friendly. I absolutely loathe needing to find drivers from their site. AmIrite?

This thing really needs to come out soon. Hopefully they will put a tv tuner in it. That would make it comparable to the Mini 10, but with Ion this thing would be a little beast. Anyone else wondering if the 311 will be able to handle Fallout 3? I know the graphics can and I think the cpu and ram should be able to also.
I'm waiting for this netbook with Windows 7 and 2GB RAM and I'll finally take the netbook plunge!
According to HP it should have Atom N280 processor and max 3GB memory capability. COOL!!
