Battle of the homebrew LEGO iPhone docks

You know, a beanbag might be good for the occasional portable movie viewer, but if you're cubicle bound and liable to look to your iPod touch or iPhone for news and entertainment on a regular basis, you're going to want something with legs. Here we have a couple prime examples of devices fashioned from good ol' fashioned LEGO brand building blocks that do the trick with the style befitting one of America's favorite childhood choking hazards. Itching to get in on the action? Hit the read link -- but not before peeping the video after the break.

I love Lego :)
Good riddance, but it's just bulky.
such nerds
is anyone reading this site not a nerd??
you are just JEALOUS you didn't think of it FIRST!!!
damn - those beat my lego dock hands down...
All I can think about is the race scene in Better Off Dead now.
That's all I can ever think about.
That's what she said?
At first glance I thought he had attached a qwerty keyboard to the bottom of it. Nope just legos. But that is still pretty sweet.
that gives me an idea...
OOH... I could make a keyboard out of legos...
They're LEGO!
cool stuff... do they post instructions on how to replicate?
Hah! My first iPhone dock-holder for my car was built out of Legos. It was much like the one on the left. Fairly simple to make, really.
But when my 92 Colt died, and I bought an 04 Tiburon, I decided I couldn't use my ghetto Lego dock anymore.
Did this for my Sony Clie PEG-TH55 like forever ago.
Welcome to the party, iPhone!
LEGO FOR ALL!
I had built several house hold helpfuls out of Knex. I currently have my keyboard hanging off my suspended TV using Knex. It is very sturdy and hasnt fallen since I put it up. Also all my picture frams are Knex, and even made a laptop desk at one time. Knex to me are so much sturdier.
You just weren't using enough legos.
The amount of LEGO bricks that woulda been required for my needs wouldnt have been practical. plus for what I use Knex for, is like the difference between a wooden roller coaster and a steel rollercoaster. Same stuff but one requires a whole lot less material for the same structural integrity. all in my own opinion remember
I can't believe nobody has made a comment about Howard Cosell. I love you Engadget graphics guys. You all rock...
looks mint any chance of a parts list for them
the black one needs some flat black peace blocks.
I built one back in the day for my phone, ipod and DS. Since them I've changed it to work with my iPhone and Shuffle. I will need to get new pics added soon.

I never really considered those things LEGO bricks. They're too... not brick-like.
we've been playing around with NXT at the office, built these:

Wow, those NXT docks are amazing. The other ones are lame by comparison. You guys should win this battle hands down. I love the millions of iphones on the table. Engadget, sort it out!
Amazing! Cool use of the sensors :)
Way better than that massive brick in the video...
Woah, is that dock motion activated? That's bloody brilliant.
P.S.: I like the R-2 in the background....
I like the Comfort Base from newpcgadgets. It has a nice acrylic look instead of this clunky design.
