MSI's longevous Wind U110 ECO available now for $400
We'll be frank -- discovering that MSI's Wind U110 ECO didn't boast an ATI GPU as we'd originally heard really put a damper on things, but still, a 9-cell battery that promises up to 15 hours of life on a single charge is hard to ignore. Granted, we have all ideas that real-world figures will pull up well short of that, but it should still outlast the vast majority of rivals currently on the market. If you've forgotten the specs, here's a rundown: 1.6GHz Atom Z530 CPU, Windows XP Home, GMA500 graphics, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel camera, gigabit Ethernet, a trio of USB 2.0 ports and a 4-in-1 card reader. If you've no interest in waiting 'til October 22nd, this one's readily available at NewEgg for $399.99.

meh
i second that meh
15 Hours!?!
how can you 'meh' 15 hours... more like 'yeah!'
I have always wanted a notebooks with these specs. I wonder what took so long.
You want Z530? Poor you...
The Longinus Wind would have been a catchier name.
notebook*
Intel Graphics?
Pass.
That's not actually intel graphics.. If only it were.
The GMA500 is not Intel? Explain, please?
The GMA 500 core wasn't developed in-house, but rather licensed from the chip-maker "Imagination Technologies".
From a netbook standpoint, the 500 is a better choice than the 950 anyway.
@GRAMMAR POLICE
If you're referring to its lower power consumption, I suppose that could be true in a sense. Still it would be nice if the GMA500 didn't have such crappy driver support.
GMA500? Nuke it from orbit.
it isnt "ECO" in the slightest, it just has a 9 cell battery. thats not eco, thats just big battery. i suppose "wind big battery edition" doesnt quite have that ring to it...
newegg really needs to add 'weight' in the specifications table.
I hope this comes with a 160gb 5400 hard drive, please.....please....please!
I match your "meh" and raise you a "Bleh"!
Just when you thought GMA could not get shitter, it somehow does
"ZuneSucks" : THINK or better yet READ before yuo type. The MSI has an integrated 1.3MP WebCam , the Dell does not. The MSI has a 9 cell battery the Dell does not. The MSI has 3 USB ports, again THE DELL DOES NOT. See the pattern here?
MSI wind U100-420US is only $329.99 on $329.99 on Amazon.
Not too Shabby!
The Asus 1005HA-EU1X is currently only $292 on Newegg.
I think the U110 is reasonable. It's practical for those who just need it for school or for those who are always on the go. Like, I'm not a big computer person but I heard good reviews about this product. For someone who needs the basic stuff, throw in the HD webcam, 160GB HD and 15+hours of battery life....I'm sold.
I love how MSI keeps making netbooks and keeps improving upon it. A 9-cell battery with 15 hour use time (at least thats whats stated) is pretty darn impressive. Match that with a hd camera and 150 gig hard drive and thats not too shabby. Its optimal for people on the go or just bringing it to the library to study. Bing.com also has anywhere between 3%-10% cashback on certain MSI computers.
