Last month, a leaked and decidedly non-confirmed listing of random phones mentioned something called the
HTC Pure. We've not heard anything since, but now
HTCpedia has what it believes to be two photos of the thing, each one enshrouded in an unattractive case; one silicon, one garish plastic. What's inside those enclosures is of course largely unknown, but it certainly doesn't appear to have a slide-out keyboard,
does appear to have four buttons on the face, and that's said to be a 5 megapixel camera on the back. The site goes so far to say that this is destined for AT&T and will be the Touch Diamond2 (nee
Warhawk), but if that's the case HTC has obviously made some tweaks to the design
the last time we saw it. We're not quite ready to say these are anything other than blurry pictures of some random HTC handset, but once we have something -- anything -- a little more conclusive we'll be sure to pass it along.
Update: As a few commenters have pointed out, this is the
MDA Compact V, currently available in the UK under T-Mobile, which could explain the magenta case. Is this what AT&T is referring to as the Pure? We wouldn't be surprised.
I live purple and pink.
It is not about purple or pink when it comes to smartphone. It is about
SOFTWARE. And get rid of Windows Mobile and HTC is in business!
@Dark Knight
I like how you say "and HTC is in business". I'll let you know, just for the hell of it, that HTC is already in business - and all due to it's fantastic line up of Windows Mobile phones.

HTC announced slower sales than expected last quarter. So much for the fantastic line up of WinMo phones. :)
Now you know why HTC announced Android phones.
WinMo sells in Europe. The interface is not the best, but the OS is
@Dark Knight
How long have HTC had Android phones with similar hardware to their WinMo phones?
Lets just keep blaming WinMo.
Need to really look at why Manufacturers keep talking about Android but not really delivering while in the mean time they keep churning out powerful WinMo phones.
They would sell better if they could get carriers to subsidize them even further. I'd really like one, but money isn't an easy thing.
That is exactly the same design as the MDA Compact V (T-mobile variant of the Touch Diamond 2), my current phone of choice.
Not sure why it has the ugly case.

Been in the UK under T-mobile since June.
start wearing purple...er...magenta
With all the Microsoft Pink rumors and one of the phones being labelled 'Pure' I thought this was it.
This isn't?
Dear HTC,
Less WinMo and more Android.
Love,
Everybody.
Dear HTC,
Don't listen to him. Keep producing your WinMo lovelies.
Regards,
Everyone else
yes, please produce more awesome windows mobile devices
thanks
Dear HTC,
Who is poke to command your highness? More Android, less WinMo please.
Yours faithful,
Everybody except (poke and *brotha)
Nice, but from the available pictures one can not tell if there is a 3.5 mm jack in this revision. One was added to the Touch Pro 2 for revisions released for some providers. I'm an AT&T costumer looking to replace my year-old Smartphone, but without a standard headphone jack I'll pass on this phone.
I mean.. it looks great and all. but.. i mean...
doesn't that look like a phone in a case to anyone else?
anyone else think its just a pink snap on case?
Definitely a case... I've actually seen their variant of the TD2, and it looks exactly like that w/o the horrendous plastic around it.
subtle differences from the mda compact V, no mda/tmo branding anywhere...maybe this is really it.
I certainly hope that case is silicone, not silicon. (Either way, yes, it's been beaten with an ugly stick.)
