Feel free to feign surprise, but seeing how Sony
handled the PlayStation 3 Slim's launch, we kind of expected this. According to an anonymous tipster, at least one Metro Atlanta-area Target store has the
PSP Go in stock and is apparently already selling them to (presumably) eager customers. So much for that October 1st street date, but you're still gonna have to wait until then for
all the new digital content. We've pinged Sony for more details. In the meantime, anyone else happen upon the new portable during their daily travels?
It's okay, I'm sure they will still be there October 1st.
Winnar.
ZING!
They'll also be there October 1, 2010.
Juest checked my walmart ( i live in Atlanta too) and they had 1.......
A winner is you!
Seriously, I can't wait until holiday season. If Sony drops the price and does something else dramatic, then we'll know that they aren't as dumb as they appear to be with the PSP Go's marketing. If they don't, I will have lost all belief in their ability to understand the core consumer. All of this, however, is based on the assumption that Go's won't sell. Don't disappoint me, target consumer.
WOW.. I love my PS3 and PSP 1000 (all three!!) but this PSPGo is an absolute piece of garbage. At least this store took the "SMRT" route and stocked up for the next 5 years, 2 units
Your avatar plus your statement made me lol.
Mushroom, mushroom!
Do the white ones come with effing Darth Vader printed on them?
Winrar actually ;)
See http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Winrar
Sony: That is not the new PSP Go. All we see is an empty shelf.
just because they are there doesnt mean they will be sold. I tried it with Rock Band. When they try to check out, the register will display the street date warning.
It Always Has To Be Wal-Mart, Haha
Who said anything about Wal-Mart?
That's actually a Target. They say it in the snip and that's a Target Label.
They actually shouldn't even be in the guest's sight. That may become an issue to even have it on the floor. Its not supposed to be out until closing September 30th or opening October 1st. We had a similar issue with Guitar Hero 5 and Halo ODST at my store.
Typical blunder of the Target overnight crew. I can't count how many times I had to pull stuff off the shelves which they put up before a release date.
A friend of mine saw a display model PSP Go and he said it actually feels pretty nice to hold.
.......hold and guide it towards the garbage. My PSP1000 Gold will kill this thing!
Oh really! Now I must get one!
Pussy feels pretty nice too, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna sleep with every std packing whore on the streets. This go is a rip off, and there will never be fair prices on games, since Sony doesn't have to compete with anyone. You only have one choice, and any PSP game you may have or want to buy cheap on eBay won't work.
It may be a rip off even more so in the UK but ill still probably buy it just for the reason that its digital media, smaller, 16GB of memory natively with an expansion slot and will work with my wireless headphones.
I thought this worthless re-hash was already out
More like Psp Gone...
i have a psp go. got mine in minnesota, at my local kmart on friday
Then it's not a PSP Go...
It might be. Does it GO?
Words do not come to me that could express the sorrow I feel for you.
Unless you have extensive cash flow for full retail digital game downloads.
In that case then, SWEET. An all-in-one portable God of War machine! Kudos!
All of my PSP games are digital downloads. They have been for a long time.
ahhh the .99c
Everyone loves the .99 on the end of their prices.Should be banned really since most countries dont have 1c coins anymore.
ok, sure.
and how many people will be buying with cash?
@Smigit: You're right, no one does, but it's annoying. Rather, tax should be included in the price tag so that you know exactly how much you'll pay, and the prices need to be changed to be round numbers.
You idiot. Most countries don't use dollars and cents at all.
Imbecile.
The argument against adding tax to the total is that the government will go crazy and charge whatever it wants because people won't notice tax then. This may not be true but I'm all for anything that may prevent extra taxation.
great news.
yeah they have em at target and best buy up here in wisconsin
Wish they had them in Baton Rouge for sale NOW! I'd cancel my pre-order and go pick mine up!
and for the readers who dislike the no UMD port, they still are developing the games for you, just us Downloaders will have more content!
-Ben
I really don't see what the PSP Go is about. You can just load a custom firmware on the UMD PSP and use a memory card to play roms, and to "legally" rip roms (from the games you own).
In a Kmart in South Mississippi, I saw four in stock this past Friday, 2 white and 2 black units. However, they were pulled on Saturday as they either figured out they were breaking the street date or they sold.
this is down the street from where i live.
i picked one up!!!!!
it's sweet.
I didn't realize the PSP Go needed refridgeration!
That's a serious step backwards.
No...but ice cream does.
So target has dibs on the first PSP Go's?
SO I totally work for a metro-Atlanta Target, where we have literally boxes apon boxes of these in the back. Idk if we put them out yet but we definently have them. I don't see why we shouldn't sell them now, I mean sony is so loose about these things.
t-2431 in Milton, check it.
Well given that it's not unheard of for stock to arrive before the street day, then yes I would assume you had them. It's illegal for the store to sell them, however, before Sony's set street date. They may be in the system, but should come up as unsellable if tried. That is, unless, some brother's from the hood come raiding your store and get some for free.
Illegal? Certainly not. There isn't any law that states "Thou shalt not sell before the street date."
However, it might be breaking the rules of the contract the retailer has with Sony. They could take the retailer to civil court over it or revoke the contract and stop giving the retailer stock depending on what exactly the contract says, but no cops are gonna come and slap cuffs on someone over it.
Jordan, I a few moments ago called you an asshole and a tool, now I'm calling you a racist as well.
250?!
Tis a funny, right Sony?
Yeah, everything about that picture is great except for the part highlighted in yellow.
