C-motech shows off Snapdragon-powered Mangrove tablet

No, the device you see above is not simply a comically large smartphone (at least we don't think it is). It's actually a Snapdragon-powered, Windows Mobile 6.5-running tablet developed by the folks at C-motech. While complete details are still a bit hard to come by, this so-called "Mangrove" device reportedly packs a 7-inch touchscreen, along with a full range of connectivity options including WiFi, 3G and WiMAX, plus a pair of USB ports and a microSD card slot for a bit more flexibility. Of course, it is still just a concept at the moment, but C-motech is apparently looking at ways to bring it to market -- although your guess is as good as ours as to whether it'll actually hang onto Windows Mobile during that transition or not.

Does it come with the creepy giant baby hand?
I was just about to say! It's a good thing some companies have the right mind in hiring a hand model to show off their devices.
Looks resistive to me.....*PUKE*
I hear you man. The minute you hear WinDULL Mobile people started to PUKE!
Looks nice. I hope it comes with bluetooth because holding that to my head just isn't a reality for me.
Mass exodus from WinMo. Everyone seems to be going to Android. No one will be coming back to WinMo until WinMo 7 is released.
Would be interesting with Android, but WinMo? Why not DOS while you're at it.
god, these Android freaks , they will even ask to port Android on a dead man.
LOL so true. Funny thing is I bet most of them haven't even got an Android phone (maybe this poster does, but still...).
I've got a G1 and tbh it's not significantly better than WinMo at all. It's quite clunky & slow, just like WM. Figures really, seeing as it uses no GPU acceleration at all.
Gah, people like you are why the world hates linux.
@Satz
Perhaps in our future, RoboCop is going to be powered by Google.
You "put Android on everything under the sun" folks are almost as annoying as the iDiots out there, almost...
All these nice looking, useful tablets yet still no iTablet
Sorry applebots, looks like iphone os tablet will be too little, too late
All those tablets will be sorry when Apple invents the tablet. How dare they copy Apple!
@chris
Uh, sorry. We have to apply the Apple fanboy standard to their tablet. if it even exist.
Since it is not the first, then they are:
"late to the party"
"too little too late"
"They copied *insert company here*"
"ugly, chunky, clunky"
Not much any of the hardware manufacturers can do against the Apple tablet. Apple is using an end-to-end solution of developing its own hardware, huge developer base, retail stores and content delivery. There isn't any competitor solution to beat iTunes for multimedia content delivery. iTunes already has a 100,000,000 credit card users just waiting to spend money on content. Apple's tablet will be all about content delivery and joint projects with Pixar and Disney.
Most of you tech-heads are just hung up on hardware and you think all a manufacturer will have to do is throw some fancy hardware on the table and the average person will think it's wonderful. Hardly. It's going to take a company such as Apple to show the people what it can be used for and give them the content they need. A complete solution, not some half-baked, 95% hardware, 5% content solution.
Dang thats huge!! WinMo on that size of a screen? *shutters*
And why does it seem that I see phone buttons?
It's the new AmigaPhone.
Are you sure it has WiMAX? as Snapdragon doesn't have any WiMAX stuffed in it.
What is this used for?
Tableting
Better question is, who is your avatar?
will it run SPB Mobile Shell?
The text in Korean says stuff like "Munch Message" and "Change Mail". Huh.
I want to test this one myself, just wanna if it works something like a tablet...
I just want to watch a video demo.
is it running winmo 6.5?
It's got 3G, and it's running WinMo 6.5.
Doesn't that categorically make it a comically large smartphone?
Yeah I was about to say that looks just like the 6.5 chome I have on my omnia.
