Dell's sensual Latitude Z now on sale, starts at $1,799
Mmm, sexy. To be honest, we're still trying to shake the butterflies we felt when we touched Dell's 16-inch Latitude Z yesterday, and if you'd care to join us, you can place your order right now. The base package gets going at $1,799 after a $200 instant rebate, and that'll net you a 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU, 64GB SSD, Intel's GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 4-cell battery, 8x slot-loading DVD burner, 802.11a/g/n WiFi and a 3-year warranty. So, who's putting a dent in their credit card tonight? Be honest -- we're all friends here.

Extremely over priced that proc is slow, 4 cell? come on , this is nuts, its about $500.00 worth of hardware. My 3 or 4 year old lenovo has better specs
and intel graphics suck
I'd rather get a Macbook Pro at this price. Except for the SSD I was able to drop $1,200 on a Gateway FX a year ago and it's capable of running Crysis. I doubt this Dell can top that.
Stupid question: what is the device that is shown in pictures 31-35 of the photo gallery for the Latitude Z? It appears to be running a wireless external display which seems pretty sweet...
I think Apple and Dell are slowing trading places in price arena. Just saying.
And I agree with the others, for that price, Thinkpad all that way.
A dent in your credit card it maybe, but let's not forget a very sexy dent in your credit card
the frame around the keyboard is killing me. it such a stupd design element
The UWB dock is now available but it requires a minicard to be installed which must be selected at purchase - so early adopters can't simply buy the dock. You also, bizarrely, cannot select the dock as well as Windows 7; you have to choose the XP downgrade option - same for the HSDPA, meanwhile it won't then let you select the bluray option as that is only available in conjunction with Win7. On the other hand, the UK store currently offers neither the UWB dock nor the HSDPA options.
