Sony's announced it will support Breast Cancer Awareness month by outing two new bundles -- and both of them are super pink. The first bundle will include a Berry Pink 10.5-inch
Vaio W with an Intel Atom N280 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive, plus a matching sleeve and mouse. The second bundle will include the special edition Rose
Pocket Edition reader with a gold clutch case, plus download codes for four e-books. Sony has said it will donate $110,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in conjunction with October sales for these bundles. The Vaio W bundle will run you $499, while the reader bundle is $199. Both can be ordered now at Sony Style.

the ereader looks purple to me
Laura is secretly colorblind. :(
Is it me, or does it seem like every month is breast cancer month?
It just seems that way because breast cancer is the most highly publicized form of cancer in the US. Komen for the Cure does a great job of getting their message out.
Can't help but feel cynical about Sony for this release.
You don't think the people at Sony are human beings? I bet most of them know someone who has died of cancer, many breast cancer, and while this is good marketing there is also a wish to do some good.
Corporations are run by the need for profit, but they are run by people like you and me. There's no reason to diss Sony for doing a good thing.
I appreciate how companies are going the extra mile to contribute to breast cancer awareness and research with special "pink" products that have proceeds from them to be distributed. Just that I don't ever see myself buying aaaanything pink colored as far as electronics.. Why couldn't they just offer any color with its proceeds going towards the donations.
Not gonna spend anything over $100 for electronics that I have to live with most of my life thats pink colored.. sorry. Bet they'd do way more if they just offered different color options.
People who have bought the Pink Viao aren't embarrassed because onlookers will know that the person donated for a cause. Part the point is spreading the awareness by showing off your charitable side. Often times the pink color can be a topic starter, and that gets the point across.
I think it's a brilliant marketing idea, who knew a color like pink would bring so much awareness with so little effort. You see a pink laptop or phone and you automatically think of breast cancer awareness.
I'll take the non-hidious version and donate the premium to a breast cancer related charity.
I don't see why people would buy a Vaio P over other netbooks, completely overpriced especially compared to the Acer 1410 here in the U.S with completely better specifications.
why bring up the Vaio P when it isn't mentioned in the article... The Vaio W series netbook is much more in line with the other netbook options out there.
Oh shit, I meant to say the Vaio W, how embarrasing!!!
Month? This shit is shoved in everyone's faces all year long.
