Google AdSense leaks Apple's refreshed iMac, Mac mini, Macbook?
This one is for all you online tea leaf readers and Apple SKU / crystal ball aficionados: Further confirming our suspicion that something more affordable may be on the horizon, Google AdSense this weekend started serving users in the Netherlands with ads for new iMacs, MacBooks, and Mac minis. Pointing to a dead link at the country's Apple Store, the ads read (via Google Translate): "Apple's Newest MacBook. Thinner, lighter and faster! Free delivery. Order today," "The Brand new iMac. Ultra Thin 20 & 24 inch models. From only €1099 (roughly $1,603). Apple Store," and "Apple's New Mac mini. Faster and more affordable than ever. From only € 499 ($723). Order immediately." (For a little perspective, that's €100 ($145) less than the cheapest Mac mini currently on the Netherlands online store.) Granted, whenever peeping purported translations from foreign tipsters we're always half-afraid that we're actually reading Celine Dion lyrics or dialogue from Caddyshack, but this one seems to be the real deal -- for whatever that's worth.
Update: Apple's "New Mighty Mouse" advertised as well.

"It's like, how much more white could this be? and the answer is none. None more white."
That's what she said
Eric Schmidt is really taking this Apple breakup pretty bad - getting all psycho exgirlfriend oh Apple's ass. Spreading rumors and telling secrets.
lol.
couldnt agree more. apple's designs are pure copy n paste these days. same design. same color. boring.
Well it's...it's cheaper...right?
Do you actually realize that the image shown is the current MacBook?
I wasn't talking about the MacBook, I was talking about the iMac.
I bet the volume goes to "11"
Has Apple done white before? This is a new direction...
Has Apple done white before? A totally new direction for them...
i cant wait to see what ports or other stuff they have removed to justify it being under $1000
@d889
USB2.0 is a premium feature.
1099 Euros is about 1606 USD, not 1063. Just saying.
@ mark
$1603.53 is what I got in the conversion
no!!! But really, this looks good. Please be under the $800 mark!
LOL! From Apple?
Uh 1099 Euros is a lot more than $1063. It is actually more like $1603.22
Exchange rate fail from Engadget here. It should read $1603, but I guess these will probably be around $1200, as we always get ripped off in Europe.
Ur absolutely right:
1,099.00 EUR = 1,601.69 USD
1 EUR = 1.45740 USD
Live rates at 2009.10.04 17:10:18 UTC
its alot more
Exchange rates are a horrible way of estimating what the products will cost in the US anyhow, as these two prices represent a huge price hike.
I'm betting the new Macbook stays at $999 (since the ad isn't pushing price there), the iMac drops $100 from $1199 to $1099, and the Mini also drops $100 to return to the G4 Mini price of $499.
For anyone looking for a new Mac, remember to check your local Apple store once these new ones are released. Older stock units are discounted, and with the price drop, it should be a pretty decent discount. Might be able to grab an older Mini, still with the good 9400M and dual display out for $399 or so.

Google can do everything ;-)
Yep you gotta take out the VAT in the total price for Americans and all the other costs associated with foreign markets.
1063, 1603, my guess is that was a typo when you are using a number pad and trying to type numbers as fast as the cashier in some gas station...
Like all civilized countries, the Netherlands, include sales tax in the prices.
The currency markets have dived based on this thread.
@pedro
Actually, i'm pretty sure it's a ripoff anywhere you go.
tablet!!!!! please!!!!
i love that i came to engadget just now because i was curious to see if there were any new rumors about the next macbooks. bam, first thing on the page. i love this site.
this is the biggest apple fanboy site on the planet..what did you expect?
TUAW?
yeah, and how did you like the 80% MS sponsored apple-hate comments to go along with that totally innocuous post? did you look forward to that as well? because it's standard fare on engadget these days. mustn't have an apple post without a bunch of MS shills (including engadget authors, more recently) to poop all over what would otherwise be constructive conversation.
euro 1099 (roughly $1,063). ???????
800$ you must be dreaming...
why can't other PC makers make a nice looking laptop that doesn't look like plastic plywood from the side? Even the most ardent PC enthusiasts have to admit these are a pretty piece of machinery
Do you even try to look for good looking PC?
I can tell you Asus have lots of nice looking PCs, also there are others dell...try looking for them... they won't just knock on your door and say hey look at me...
as far as nebooks.... Nokia netbooks is DAM nice looking (not cheap, but nice looking)
My Vaio FW is beautiful (and it ought to be for the $1000 I spent on it)! As far as Windows-based machines go, Sony leads the pack in innovative design, regardless of what you might think. Rest assured, Apple isn't the only one that actually cares about what their product line looks like.
The Envy would like a word with you.
Yes, they look good until the "better quality" polycarbonate plastic starts flaking off like none other.
@Brian, so true, spiders web fractures are a problem too...
I love my ASUS G50Vt, but I won't lie-- It's pretty ugly compared to the aluminum MacBook I sold to get it.
On the other hand, the ASUS also has a multi-card reader, HDMI port, VGA port, Lightscribe drive, four USB ports, a 15" screen, and the ability to play some decent games... And it cost me $300 less than the lowest-priced MacBook.
I'll take "ugly and loaded" over "pretty but empty".
...to receive my anthrax chain letter
I've got a feeling apple are going to raise UK prices thanks to their stupid marketing strategy. I kind of hope not because I might buy a macbook and dual windows and OSX. But this is apple.
I think the UK prices will probably stay the same, it's pretty much euros for sterling at the moment so a price drop in the Eurozone is probably to bring them into line with UK pricing. I hope we (UK) get a price-cut but I doubt it.
Hmmn, if thin is 'the thing' surely they should now be calling it the Mac Pamphlet? A 'book' has more... substance... ;-)
Pamphlets have no style, MacBrochure?
Books are so last millennium anyway, should be MacPDF
MacKindle?
MacDigitalChef?
MacCourier!
