Gooooooooo Computers!
i've seen some where in the internet that for xp users that don't want to lose that touch of windows xp, there's like a theme for windows 7 that completely changes the look of windows 7 to windows xp. i do not know if its true but i've seen it somewhere 0_0. between i can't wait to get this os in my hands when im gonna buy the ultimate edition one, and since i have vista now -_- i can just buy the upgrade option :)
I skinned my XP to look just like 7 and when you compare with with an actual 7 box there is no difference in performance.
i can't wait to get my copy on the 22nd... can't come soon enough!
That's what she said a countless number of times.
i cant wait to see the full reviews snow leopard vs windows 7
a fair review would be compare macbook pro 2.66 (15 inch) with a built-in pc with the same configuration .
Why would you buy it when you can install it for free? My friend sent me this link on how to install it. Its a video tutorial or something.

I signed up to host a party and got accepted. Party pack should arrive before the release date, or so I am told by microsoft. I actually have some friends that are stilling running XP systems that want to check it out.
Your smart friends will continue to run Windows XP while waiting for Windows 8. Your really smart friends will continue to run Windows XP even after the release of Windows 8.
His genius friends are still running Windows 95.
I am using the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 RC right now. I had a few questions about the retail versions. I can not seem to find any constant answers, lots of conflicting speculation out there.
I had been using Windows XP, before I upgraded my PC hardware and installed Windows 7 on fresh hardware. Even though I have a still shrink wrapped copy of Windows Vista Ultimate.
I often reinstall my PC OS, because I just want a fresh install to eliminate all the stagnate software parts left behind in the registry ...etc..
If I get a upgrade copy of Windows 7, will I first have to install Windows XP or Vista before installing Windows 7 every time I want a fresh OS install? Seems like a waste of time. If the upgrade only asks to pop the old version of OS in the CD/DVD drive for verification, I'm ok with that. I can save some $$$. Lots of misinformation floating around.
I got my 3 license family pack of Windows 7 Home Premeium on Friday (Oct. 2). I had pre-ordered it in August.

I don't have many complaints about Windows 7. It is built on Vista and corrects the most annoying things about Vista. Win7 is also easier to navigate than Vista.
However, Windows 7 is still bloated spyware with no added value.
Why are there three versions? There should be Microsoft Server and Microsoft Home.
I guess the word "Ultimate" means that people who pay for that version are "ultimately" fools.
No thanks. I'll stay with XP.
I have a question for all the posters that say that Vista was bad, etc.
How many ACTUALLY used it? Or are just recycling what a few have said about it? I have been using it for years and have had LESS trouble with it than my XP Pro. XP had problems too when it first came out. No operating system is ever going to be "perfect" no matter what computer it runs on.
I will probably be one of the people that buy it the day it comes out. But I plan on getting the full install version. Not the upgrade. I not want to spend the time to have to reinstall and older operating system then install 7 over it. I have done that enough with other programs. And after having to install a upgrade over a upgrade gets old like me!
@ Bit
Do you even know why you're upgrading? All the reasons you are quoting are to purchase a bag of less problems. Yet you're paying to get a different set of problems. If these are the reasons people are paying to upgrade then it looks like Windows is in a really sad state of affairs.
Am I the only one who thinks that Typical Engadget Tech-Nerd seems a lot like Paul A. Chapel? Although Paul did seem a little more mature in his arguments.
Just give me my two damn copies already. For crying out loud, the OS has been done for months now, has been in the hands of many people through digital means, and the family packs are already in the hands of some. Why do I have to wait till the 22nd?
Go download it if you want it that badly. Activate it with the retail key once you have it. That should work.
I'm getting my Windows 7 Ultimate Dale Erndhart Ballmer Signature Edition in a couple of days with a deck of matching playing cards. Who's ready to party?
I know this is two pages late, but if I were president of France, I'd be banging this chick

i just got my signature edition of ultimate...found a good site that runs how to upgrade to the final version of windows 7 if you're running the r as your main os (like me). http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/3075/how-to-upgrade-the-windows-7-rc-to-rtm/
Why does Engadget make the low and lowest ranked comments impossible to see?
I had no idea Mac Fanboys could be so angry over a good operating system from Microsoft. From calling it a virus machine to down right bashing it as being a ugly girl with lots of makeup. Is Win7 so good that you fanboys are mad at us for having it? Snowleapord not update enough for you guys? Do you all need a hug? Its ok guys I am sure you can just go ahead and switch....no one will blame you even though you are tied to a single manufacturer who overcharges for basic PC components that alone would cost $100-200 less if you built a PC yourself and installed OSX.
So tell me what are you paying for? I have seen the components in Macs and they are so much more expensive than a comparable PC. Why is that? Customer service? is it really so good as to warrant spending 500+ bucks more for the same components? Or is it the OS, well how much is the OS worth by itself? 500+ bucks...no? Then why? Explain to me what your spending so much money on and why that makes your company 1000x better than Microsoft.
Oh I know its Virus' you dont get them do you? Oh I forgot to mention you dont have virus' because only widely excepted, hugely popular platforms get taken advantage of because they can get more money by doing so. Which maybe why the Iphone is starting to see and get virus'! GASP! a Mac with virus'!!!! Gimme one good reason why buying the systems are better! I like the OS but the system is not worth what they charge.
No need to wait for a good OS--just get a Mac!
fuck vista piece of crap
You know why they chose Oct 22, 2009 and Oct 13, 2009 for the Windows 7 launch dates?
Add 22-10-2009 and 13-12-2009, 2 + 2 + 1 + 0 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 1 + 3 + 1 + 0 + 2 + 0 +0 +9 = 16,
1 + 6 = ...
Coincidence, I think not!
