Dell reveals new Adamo XPS, gives no details

Update: And... that was it. Seriously, you would think Dell would've maybe learned something from the original Adamo launch and maybe dished out some info, but as usual they just waved it around for a second and then talked about less-interesting things. Still, here's what we know -- it's super thin, and it obviously unfolds in a completely new way. We're digging for more, we'll let you know.

Kinda careless the way he's holding it in the first pic....
Detachable Keyboard? Just maybe.
probably better than that thin piece of shit from Apple
...and yes, i'm a Mac user!
but can it run crysis?
beat me to it!!
you arent funny.
Yeah. It's super thin folks. We can't show it running yet, 'cause we're still trying to fit the battery in somewhere.
I wonder how much it will cost...
I still want one, though I'll never be able to afford it while I'm in school >
At lest I like Dells Idea on changing the lid of the Laptop to match your favorite baseball tea,. Love the second version to the Red Sox logo . GO SOX!!!

I got to play with the new Adamo a couple days ago at an event for the certain company that I work for....I wont say just in case I shouldnt. But it does not have a detachable keyboard. The powercord is really shotty and feels like its going to break off. As for the design when you open it up it has a flat keyboard with curves on each key. The screen opens about 1 and half inches from the back. The back part of it is for the extra ports and the power cord. They tried to basically say how the adamo actually had ports compared to the macbook air.
One of the cool things is they said they got licenses from intel and windows to be able to engrave both of there logos on the bottom instead of putting stickers inside which gives for a cleaner feel when opening it up.
Lastly the battery is INTEGRATED for longer battery life and will have to be serviced by dell to get replaced. If i remember anything else ill write it in. I have a picture of it if engadget would like to post it.
Why does this just sound like a review of the original Adamo and has absolutely nothing to do with the Adamo XPS pictured above?
... and, speaking of embossing, is that possibly an LG logo mark I see there?
"The screen opens about 1 and half inches from the back."
Are you claiming that the smaller part with the dell logo on it in the first pic is the display? You can post a link of you pic so we can see it.
If it is indeed a wild hinge we are seeing, then this could indee be very clever.
If it works like i think, then most of the laptop is lifted up from the surface below, making for massive airflow beneath, therefore making the "cooling via lower surface" much more efficient.
But maybe its something else.
Whatever.
call me interested in it!
If this has decent dedicated graphics and at least a c2d at that form factor, dell surely have a winner in their hands.Call me optimistic but that new cooling vent design makes me wonder if they somehow stuffed a Core i7 in there.
I wish i could afford one right now.Eagerly waiting for an Envy 15 vs Adamo XPS comparison :D
Does it have a DVD drive/burner in there?
Does it cost less than a $1,000?
Does the battery last more than 7-8 hours?
If it doesn't, Acer Timeline is my choice for the time being, no matter how slick/slim/sexy this Dell might turn out to be...
speaking of dell, anyone seen on how their site under Alienware they have added Area 51 Desktops without a price tag
forget no battery-i think thats just a chassis without a monitor!
Isn't it obvious? With anything this thin, there are going to be sacrifices. It will have no optical drive, it will have no core i7 and it surely will not have dedicated graphics card. The fact that it has an internally battery is instant fail.
Why do so many people instantly consider anything with an internal battery a Fail? How many people actually even remove the battery at all save to replace it when it dies after a couple of years? How many people actually own a second battery to swap out on the spot when the charge on the first one runs low? Finally, how many people have absolutely NO access to an outlet for 4-5 hours (not counting airplanes)?
Bear in mind that I am speaking about the electronics market in general, most people on engadget probably don't represent the status quo.
It looks like the screen wraps around the keyboard! The bills you'd use to pay for this thing could be stacked thicker than the laptop itself.
My friend's mom got the prototype of the adamo xps a few weeks ago......since she works with dell. He says its uber cool and very slim. He said its a bit hard to type on though, he keeps on hitting the wrong keys. Im trying to convince him to take pictures of it and send it to engadget. But its risky cz dell might get real pissed at her if they find out. He said its not as powerful as he had expected. But then again, he owns a alienware laptop so of course it will seem slower compared to it.
also he said its .39" thick
Your friends moms dildo is not an Adamo XPS.
My friend's mom's uncle's best friend's acquaintance told me you are a stupid troll.
Which makes me wonder...why did I just feed you?
Whoever is in charge of Adamo marketing and strategy should be fired. They obviously don't want the product to succeed. What a sloppily and poorly marketed product...
I have a plenty of dell laptop battery for you ,

Hey, fanboy, have you yet used Win7? It takes OS X and rapes it behind a building.
