CE-Oh no he didn't! Part LXIV: Microsoft's Greenberg says Xbox will outsell PS3 for 'entire generation'
Didn't think Microsoft exec Aaron Greenberg could top himself after saying that Hulu on 360 was like "asking out a really hot chick on a date?" Well, think again, 'cause Greenberg recently sat down with GameInformer for a fairly wide ranging interview, and he took the opportunity to toss a few bombs in Sony's direction. The biggest of those is that he's "confident" that the Xbox 360 will "not only outsell PS3 for the full calendar year, but for this entire generation" -- adding that it's "similar to a game of baseball, it is not about just winning one inning, but instead being able to win the game by consistently delivering across all nine innings." Greenberg also went on to say that Sony's expected good showing in the September sales numbers is merely a "short term bump," and that "it is not a real concern to us." Hit up the link below for the complete interview, which also includes talk of the Zune HD, Xbox Live, and Microsoft's plans for the holiday season.[Via PC World]

He must not be counting japan.
well it's because of that big ass pitcher of RDF Kool Aid that Ballmer is a fat ass
i find it insulting that he says that they will out sell the ps3 by the end of the generation as most people know the official figures and its clear that by the end of next year the ps3 will have a clear lead over xbox360. i believe at the last time the official figures was released the xbox60 was only 6 million units in front and when u consider that it had a 1.5 year head start it shows how fast sony is catching up.
Nintendo has won this generation, at the moment they are on 60m+ units sold which is about a good 25m more than the xbox360, dont think either of them can catch that sort lead.
the thing about the wii is that it will prolly end several years before the ps3 and 360. Wii HD anyone??? That sounds like a new system to me...
the wiiHD will be a upgrade not there next gen machine. think DS - DSlite - DSi.
A improvement within the same gen of machine, which will mean they will include wii and wiiHD sales together.
Why does every exec at Microsoft have such big mouths. Anything these guys open their mounts they end up failing or giving the competitor a boost. Look at Android for example; it's spreading like wildfire.
So what he is saying is that he doesn't think that the PS3 will be cracked and allowed to play "backup" games on. Cmon ppl, we know that is a big deal in the 360 sales... Saying no to this fact is like saying that McDonald doesn't make people fat...
Just to add my one cent. I have had my 360 for close to 5 years now and it is still going strong. Though I admit I dont play games every hour of the day! I go to work, sleep, watch TV and do many equally useful things. Maybe RRoD is MS way of discouraging addictive gaming.
I'm not going to leave some petty RROD comment, that's not even the reason anymore.
Unless the 360 starts turning out some decent exclusives, I'll never see a reason to buy the damn thing.
I remember back then, where it was the PS3 that had no games. What happened lol? I'm literally swimming in exclusives at the moment and my poor 360 is withering :/ When you have as many first party developers as Sony however, it's really not a surprise lol. Uncharted and the Next ratchet in the same month as Brutal Legend... *sigh*
De-lu-sion-al
Microsoft's euphemism for: "We're afraid our sales will go downwards from now on"
and btw: this Greenberg guy can say/think whatever he believes but that still doesn't change the fact that Xbox 360 sucks, always has and always will :)
haha Mini-Balmer has scary expression on his face...
