PS3 - $300 - includes wireless internet, blue ray, free online play = $300 Xbox - $200 - $100 for wireless, $150 for standalone player(or just play all those Hd Dvd's they keep releasing), $50 a year online play = $500 plus once a year you need a replacement (see 40% failure rate).
Doesn't matter which one is "better". PS3 has technically been "better" than 360 for the past 3 years, yet more people have chosen to buy the 360. The sales numbers prove it. How many millions more systems has 360 sold than PS3? This fact, combined the vastly larger game library, makes 360 "better"
Both 360 and PS3 are technically "better" than the Wii, yet which system has sold the most?
And I'll bite the bait, the vast majority of people don't care about blu-ray. People have proven that their willing to pay 50 a year for online play because they get a better experience with it. And you need to buy a new one every year? Ever hear about the 3 year warranty?
do any of you realize he was talking about an economic business perceptive whereas you guys are talking from an educated customer perspective. well, that educated is pretty subjective, because you weren't educated enough to differ a business statement from a flame bit.
The sony fanboys still havent learned from their massive market loss. People just want to buy a console. They dont want or need a bluray player. If they did they tend to want a standalone, and will buy it on their terms. Sony's plan to bundle the bluray has only raised the cost of the console and chased off buyers. Now its just too late to do anything about it. Sony has cemented itself as an anti-consumer company with its tactics. I'll take MS over them any day of the week.

You can add in a breadmachine and a foot massager into there if you like. It still doesnt help sales to bundle things people didnt ask for and then claim it gives you market superiority.
